Ashes Cricket General Discussion

With this new patch, my timing is all over the place. I have not had this much difficulty in timing the ball ever since i started playing cricket games in general. The best i have gotten so far is “good” timing, not a single six. All my lofted shots get caught in the 30 yard circle. I am enjoying this new patch, but it is frustrating not being able to score rapidly in the limited overs game. Most difficult shots to time are the drives in the V. Any pointers??

I experienced the same while I Batting in ODI yesterday, not a single 6, very few 4s. But I was able to score more than run a ball, but lost all my wickets trying to go for big shots.

In 34.3 overs I scored 236 all out.

I was able to time the faster bowlers comparatively easier than spinners. It’s the spinners (part timers) who took 5 wickets when I tried to slog them.

I just got the game and I had a few questions. Also this is my first cricket game since cricket 07 so bear with me lol
The patch is overwhelming and it’s difficult to get shots on and make a score
Is there any option to make foot decisions automatic so all I have to do is direct and hit the ball? Because timing direction and footwork is so hard to manage and multi task
I may not be good at the game but it’s tough even at amateur level

Also how do you get wickets? Any tips? The other teams just smack me for boundaries

Emotions raw, the atmosphere highly charged, but it was agreed by all at the 'Gabba that the 27th April 2018 was the day cricket gaming turned from Arcade to Simulation

Current Broad scoring a hundred? Simulation my arse! :p

Seriously though it's nice to see you happy after so many years haha.

Oh there are tweaks needed, like why does confidence carry on into the second innings, does the pitch really deteriorate? The bounce was a little too high with the increased pace, so plays and misses often didnt result in bowleds and LBWs, bowler stamina I could have increased a bit more too, but for the first time I thought there was actually a base for a cricket simulation here, rather than wondering if anything works at all.

I’m sorry mate u can’t judge a patch simulating bit unfair

As opposed to the human element where guys don't bowl properly, guys play 5 over a side, and try and hit sixes every ball before complaining that a build sucks? I'd say it's the only way to judge the AI in the patch.. Can't speak for timing windows and things.

I mean it was a hard wicket so ball bouncing over the stumps from a good length is probably correct. The issue is likely to be more that the AI wasn't bowling a consistently fuller length to compensate for the extra bounce like a real player would.

I ramped the pace up a bit to make it feel more like real cricket, and it did feel like a very hard Gabba pitch. I'd probably turn bounce down another 10 if I was playing somewhere else.

I really wanted to turn bounce down while Broad was flailing around his way to a century, but in the interests of consistency.

Shot power with the aggressive batsman and their strengths might be a little high (Finch and Bairstow).. Punched the air when Finch got out cheaplyin the second innings though, so it's fine tuning. One day I might actually play the game.

I have my pace up at 85 and I find the R1 (slightly fuller) "Good" length delivery will hit the top of off-stump with most variations on a hard pitch. Cutters bounce a bit higher I think.

Those darn No. 9`s in the second innings... :)

It's nice that to pick holes I really have to look for them.

I think the main issues I found were the pitch visuals resetting, and then do they really make a difference if you can't see them? Not an obvious one, but I'm probably wrong, and there were plenty of nicks in the last innings.

Batsman confidence carrying into the second innings, and spinner turning the ball both ways all the time, even if set to 0 for special deliveries.

Give broad a tweak make him into a real rabbit ha...

In all seriousness as you bowling, he would never of hit a ton.

Glad your enjoying...[DOUBLEPOST=1524986874][/DOUBLEPOST]5FEE805F-332F-4202-A39C-3B4F7318B977.jpeg

This pitch @Langeveldt didbt get any easier regardless of confidence so it’s minor but your right still too much.
