Ashes Cricket General Discussion

Ok so just a general thing I've noticed after reading this thread.. a lot of people bashing people for "nitpicking" over little little things.

But I kinda agree with the nitpickers, yes BigAnt have done great things with the mocap but looking at some of these things released in their official media/PAX baffle me.

How hard is it to get Warners and Renshaws height correct? Who approved of a bit of gameplay in the first video where the wicketkeeper looks like its Moeen Ali and isn't wearing gloves?? And this latest screenshot from PAX.. why doesn't the fielding radar show 11 fielders???

I just don't understand why official promotion of a game would have such blatantly obvious errors like that especially only 2.5 weeks from release!
At least there isn't a bat in the middle of the pitch this time :p

Yeah but I am surprised since Ross would vehemently oppose anyone who suggested these things in the past. I hope this is no way a devolution of the game.
There will "easy controls (what u see)" and "Original controls" what we are used to... Im also goin to assume the radar andpitch marker are on the two easy levels and the difficult simulation levels we wont be seeing that (I hope!)

Radar and Pitch markers definitely associated with ON/OFF setting i guess. And that would be good thing.

I'd like it automatically disabled at higher difficulty levels, not even an option to put it on :), the casual gamers can play with it on, on easy :)

Am i the only one who is sick of the "We still have not heard about... when are we hearing about... when is the release of the...."

It has been specified many times, that there is a marketing plan that BA are sticking to. Details about the game will be released when they deem it to be the right time to do so. We are not marketers, we are not game developers.
How about we just sit and enjoy the ride until release in around 2.5 weeks.

All will be revealed in time.. isn't that the beauty of things??

Would movies be as enjoyable if we skipped right to the ending??
It's all about the journey, not just the destination..
I understand their motivation behind doing what they are doing and gonna do in near future as i am a marketer myself!
It's a journey! Everything will be revealed Gradually! If you get to known everything about the game now! Then what will you do for the rest of the days until the release! You will get bored and the hype will be gone! Requesting everyone to be patient a bit longer! Everything will be answered eventually!

As long as every questions by the forum users (potential buyers) are answered by @BigAntStudios here before the release date, it’s well and good.

I think that the key to making a successful cricket game is that you have to appeal to BOTH types of player, trying not to alienate the other. Offering an easier-to-understand version of the controls, with more help from the game to the player, is IMO absolutely necessary to push the franchise forwards.

I think what BA have done is built a following with the die-hards and used that to build the engine, and now are ready to expand to the more mainstream (the official partnership helps this greatly), whilst keeping those loyal followers on board. You can't do it all at once, and this makes utter sense. It's very smart IMO.

I think regardless of what they do to controls the usual two stick control setup will make its way into the game for simulation type players.
But the new controls are great addition IMO not only for plug and play but also for us imagine a hard day's work and you feel like getting a good quick session of game to cool off and you wanna beat the crap out of an opposition which would have you feel great for that time why not do that with this control and the pitch marker...:D

I wouldn’t, I want it independent of skill level, just a simple on/off option

For example I would like to bat with simplified controls and radar on and bowl with dbc controls and probably radar off

I am no elitist player and above would suit me perfectly
