I’m sure I’ll still look out for future BA cricket games, and I may well pop back to this one from time to time just to scratch the itch, but I’m not sure what I’d do to be able to avoid the issues it still has and stay engaged long term. Gutted!

The mode I've played most is Ashes mode, as a custom solo player. Career mode is exactly my thing in principle, but it's not in ideal form at present. Long, deep solo play is hampered by the sim run rate issue, especially.

A scenario mode is one of the most requested features for good reason. Dropping you straight into the action at some pivotal point. Atmosphere, context, depth baked in, sort of thing. But also throwaway, and less vulnerable to some of the game's foibles.

Although tbh I quite like a bat in the nets for 15 mins, just like cricket therapy or something. Especially now there's a bowler.

Any advice on how to play a decent square cut batting guru!? It's the one shot I struggle with on hardest batting. SO many attempts end up being edged behind and stepping in line with the balls pitch gives me 'Good' footwork but then the ball is too close to my body to cut properly.

Hey guys can someone help me. When I play with easy difficulty it's very very easy to play and when I switch to medium difficulty I can barely hit a boundary. Can someone please recommend me best settings/sliders? It's very frustrating to play right now

Also when I play 10 overs or 20 overs game vs AI the AI doesn't put up a challenging target on Legend Ai difficulty

That’s a fair. I’ve not really found a mode that is complete enough or deep enough to really get me hooked. Likewise, the actual action out in the middle is the same. It’s pretty decent, but there’s always just a caveat somewhere, something that is just not quite right and tops the scales the other way.

The only thing that tempted me the other day was to play an IPL, or even a County season. But then I realised with no player turnover, releases, new signings, contracts etc, it’d all be pretty basic.

I've not really sorted it out that well myself in the latest builds of Ashes. The timing is later than it used to be, I think, and I go back but not far across. I've really enjoyed doing cuts and pulls in practice - all short balls, just deciding between cuts and pulls.

For DBC14, the square cut was my thing for a while against the quicks because I thought it was the biggest challenge in terms of *really* picking your attacking shots without premeditating - if you get caught guessing, trying to square cut a straight full one, you're out lb, and the ai bowled a lot of straight balls.

You could play a solitary season and then throw transfers/releases out to the community on here. I had a similar thought when thinking of doing some T20 sides for the new English Competition.

Might work better with IPL.

I’ll have a ponder. I’d prefer to control 1 player than the team for length of game reasons, and that still means the simulation issues will be present.

The problem I have is that if I do a season through career mode, I have to be captain to select the team before each game, right? I’ve tried setting my career player as the captain in the Team Manager before I start, but I still wasn’t able to change the line up. Is there another way to do a full season without setting up every game? Is it in the Competitions mode?

I’ve got some excel sheets ready set up for tracking averages and form etc. if needed.

I am playing carrier mode, just get selected for bbl, and my bbl teams are unofficial now, if I download new bbl teams it will overwrite in carrier mode or it will use old one..

If you save the new teams with the same on disk names and overwrite them, yes the new teams should be used (as long as the players have on disk equivalents), the changes should be reflected at the next new match.

Ball going through bat is a pretty normal issue jaffar it also occurs with certain seam input deliveries it's the game engine problem don't think they will be able to patch it

It is quite disappointing to see no activity here. It seemed to me like patching was moving in the right direction, and suddenly it's all for naught. Overall, after three titles - going back to 14 - there has been a steady regression in experience, for me at least. I think unless this isn't rectified, this is probably the last game I will buy from this company. Such a shame as I do like to support small game companies, and good for them for supporting cricket. But, the variety of issues in career mode means the game is broken, full stop (how can you have no world cup?) Hopefully they're still working on it and we see something. But just in terms of opinion, I'm tired of going back and forth.

Yup agree with you. When they stopped the patched with DBC 17 it was kind of complete game. But Ashes is far for complete. At least give us a stable game with the AI aggressiveness fix.[DOUBLEPOST=1536382763][/DOUBLEPOST]Has anyone experience any issue with loading saved games? I am not able to save game and delete saved games, from competition and tour modes.
