Ashes Cricket General Discussion

As one example ai chasing.
Cricket must be tough to develop a convincing game for and also to test. For instance, in real life sometimes teams really don't chase well...sometimes they blast it without breaking a sweat. There's an ebb and flow within matches and across series and, indeed, over years. I hope that we can still see some degree of this in Ashes where it doesn't seem like you're always playing the same match and the AI will perform the same game in and game out. I don't mind individual games or even series sometimes being very one-sided (a la recent Ashes series), as long as, overall, there are more closely fought games and there's that chance to turn around a loosing streak by playing well and riding your luck or having your winning streak busted by a team playing out of their skins. Almost comes down to having an overall team confidence level that varies based on context. However, not easy to code or test, I would imagine.
Anyway, thanks for your continued efforts and updates.

oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.......to be fair it was tricky against Lyon but three of the wickets at least were down to really really poor shot choices.....but hey that's cricket: Root and Vince were going well and edging towards a good partnership when Root played straight into gully's midriff off a ball he had been leaving alone all morning and Vince....well yeah....Vince...

Positives: AI reviewed two decisions: got one of them, lost the other. Pitch has become more tricky as the session wore on. AI have enforced the follow on...and why not.....
Negatives: me in charge of the controller!!!

A little more movement....

Oh No... Expected a century.
I think we need to get used to the new batting timing to score more runs. I still believe we can score centuries with this patch as @WealeyH did it last week.

Hey guys, is there any reason why in tournament mode when I simulate a game the two teams play completely different XIs to the ones I set in the cricket academy? By the way I have checked the defaults and have only one line-up(not multi-format).

Definitely think that adding some team dynamics around confidence and strategies could be a way to go - I've suggested team mentalities in the past, maybe determined by the mentality of the captain.

It'd be great to see a noticeable difference in how teams play - thinking if you compared the current England ODI team with the England ODI team from the last world cup. At the moment it feels like every team are going for 300 and fall way short. Pretty much every ODI I play follows the same pattern; 4-6 wickets in the powerplay because they are going gung ho for runs. 11th over onwards they slow right down, wickets keep falling but at a slower rate and they're all out between overs 30-40.

Do you guys have any plans to test the ODI format and T20 format the same way you are testing the longer format? Or better are you guys testing the shorter formats ? I am asking this because I did see @Dutch saying that shorter format does need some tweaking but I have also seen problems where if I keep hitting on leg the AI still does not stop me from hitting on that side of the ground. Few fixes such as this and the shorter format will be really hard to not perfect.

One more thing that came into my mind was that cover drive push which was getting mishit to six. That needs a fix too

@WealeyH Hi, did you finish your 50 overs match? I remember you posted updates until 10 overs of batting. Can you plz post ur experience of that match if its completed?

Do you honestly think that?
Maybe hate is a strong word, maybe neglecting is a fair statement. I am sure you get the frustration.[DOUBLEPOST=1521085960][/DOUBLEPOST]
Maybe go back a few pages to see why they can patch AO Tennis more quickly than Ashes
Oh rapid patch story. Well we are not asking patches every month not even 2 months . To be fair we only had 2 patches for cricket . How many have AO tennis had. Really is it asking for too much. Honestly

There is another tennis game releasing soon so I understand if they want to get the game as good as they can get before it releases.
