Its absolutely amazing news but it has to come to Ashes Cricket. Doubt it will but if it makes it, I would be so pleased.

Hi guys, I've asked around quite a bit, and checked through the forums, but not found a definitive answer yet, does anyone know whether the stats issues are going to be fixed for the upcoming patch? If so, then I don't think I will stop playing this game!
Sorry, what is face play?
Is it adding our own faces to the game?

What is wrong with a batsman having a weakness for special shots? Plenty of bastmen can play all around the ground, but would get out if trying to play a ramp shot, or reverse sweep/cut.
Or am I missing something?

PLAYFACE™ - Take a photo of yourself, and put your face directly onto a character model, then drop yourself directly into your game via full cross-platform capability between PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
Coming as part of AO Tennis. Would be very cool if added to Ashes and include on-disk players.
I have to face myself in the mirror every day. The reason I play video games is so I can make myself 6'6", athletic and good looking :P
But, this has been done before in other sports games. However, usually quite poorly. In fact, I believe EA Sports NHL 200x had this ability on PC (that's about 15 years ago).
My Sony Xperia has a 3d scanner. I'd like to see this kind of technology employed in future so I don't have to spend hours hand-chiseling my brow, ears and nose. Or is this what PLAYFACE offers?

Playface just seems like another gimmick to me. Like the stadium creator before it, it is just more window dressing to games that have glaring issues in the core gameplay. They make good press releases, whilst time would be better spent on the actual mechanics of the sport.

@Llewelynf @wasteyouryouth a question to you guys.
After the patch gets released , I am gonna delete Ashes Cricket 2017 and entire data content saved related to the game.
I will be downloading the game and setting up the data from scratch.
My question is , I always download the teams individually as recommended in the below thread which tells you which team is to be downloaded by mapping the creator name.

Shall I follow the same approach or do we have any changes and you want me to refer to somewhere else?
Even though Llewelynf has changed the team rosters etc as per IPL 2018 still the thread shows last updated is on 10/12/2017.

I'll probably re-share everything when the new patch comes out - I reached the download limit the other day after downloading only 2 of the county sides by @Llewelynf. So I may go back in and alter some of the kits I've done to reduce the numbers of logos being shared. It seems unecessary having logos for a pair of plain trousers for example. My personal thread is up to date in terms of shares as I believe is llewelyn's.@Llewelynf @wasteyouryouth a question to you guys.

Football Manager has something like it. You upload a photo and then select points on the picture (eyes, nose, mouth etc) and then it maps it on to a 3D model. Mixed results. I created quite a good manager based on a Kim Jong Un but I looked nothing like myself (at least how I think I look). It's only for your manager though, I've got to imagine it's similar to this. If this includes on-disk players it may mean we can finally stop having posts about whether you can put other player faces into the game. Maybe it's one of the reasons the patch has taken so long. I'm guessing as it's called PlayFace you can put yourself on any body you like and use Brad Pitt's face too.
This will be a great feature especially for guys like me who like to create fantasy teams...
i dont think bigant will add this feature to ashes cricket. They may keep it for next game for the world cup so that users can create all the teams with real player faces n play d world cup.

Ah right, I only did the big update of teams on my game a couple of weeks ago. Will the patch coming out mean we might have to redownload to get the best experience?

I would say say yes. Especially if you have stuck to mine and @wasteyouryouth's teams, I know he also updates regularly like myself.
