Who do you think will win the Asia Cup 2018?

Rohit Sharma as a captain has been fantastic in this competition! Much much better than Kohli in crunch situations and level headed too. Although it will never happen but I really hope he is made full time captain in limited overs.

I agree. I think he has used match-up bowling really well to individual batsmen. For example, as soon as Sarfaraz and Malik were together at the crease, he went straight back to Bumrah despite spinners doing well. Even though it didn't really work, I still appreciate that he looked at the fact that those 2 are Pakistan's best batsmen of spin bowling and therefore went to his fast bowler.

Those 2 straight drives that Dhawan played is just porn. I think he plays his best in ODI's. The problem is though when selectors pick him for test for his ODI form. Selectors must treat him the same way as they have done with Rohit now. Just keep him away for test cricket.

Pakistan just happy to let these two rotate the strike which highlights the differences between the two sides and with the lack of an attacking field doesn't look there's actually any intent to put pressure on these two batsmen. The match is obviously in India's favour right now but you can't allow them just to coast to victory.
Sarfraz needs to have a word with himself.

Somewhere down the line I expect Rohit and Dhawan to perform exceedingly well in this series.
I hope these guys just continue what they've been doing and more importantly just focus on limited overs. They're a solid pair in ODIs and have always said our success in WC '19 will also hugely depend on how these two perform.

India truly have the best top order right now in international cricket. Rohit, Dhawan and Kohli are indeed the cream of the lot right now. And we have been like this for quite sometime now. This is why we didn't win the CT last year as our top order bulldozed their way through that tournament only to falter in the final and the middle order was unexposed and failed at the most crucial time.

I also felt that Rohit has handled captaincy very well so far in this tournament. I did not want to say this earlier because people here know my thoughts on Kohli and would likely brush it off as 'just another rant against Kohli' (they will still do it; but now I don't care because I am hearing a few more ppl praise Rohit and say he is potentially better than Kohli for captaincy). I feel Rohit Sharma looks a proper candidate and a better candidate for captaincy in limited overs format. And with him handling captaincy, Kohli (who to his defense, is the world's best batsman right now across format) does what is best and maybe even moves up many gears in his batting. I don't see a full time captaincy change atleast until the 2019 WC but I wish a captaincy change happens after that.

Its like India are playing a Associate team. I guess they got their revenge for the ICC championship trophy final lol.

If Pakistan reaches the final of this tournament...... mark my words a repeat of CT 17 final is coming.

It doesn't matter whether or not India have a great top order or not. There's going to be a day where they fail and the middle order has to face the music. India's middle order is untested and untrusted. There's nothing notable from them besides that 60 from Rayudu. It's fantastic to see Rohit and Dhawan form a great combination at the top, but I really hoped his Asia Cup would provide some answers in the middle order. I hope India's middle order is tested in the next few series (which is outside India) because there's no way in hell India can win the world cup without a consistent middle order that can score runs when required. Just as the selectors stuck with Rohit and Dhawan at the top, they must stick with the same players in middle order and stop chopping and changing.

When I saw Sarfaraz clapping for Rohit's century and likewise when Kohli once clapped for Zaman's century.. it was a proud moment of being a Cricket fan, happy to say that it's the only sport I watch. What a beautiful sport, gentleman's game! I also like the character shown by both the teams, you can be aggressive through your game and not words. I saw no unnecessary words exchanged, nothing over-the-top.

Pakistan deserved to loose the match today. The panic button was on to them right from the word go. This is all happening due to bad and inconsistent team selection right from the start of this tournament. One should ask why the selectors and team management broke most of the CT combination team. Why Sarfraz didn't go with Aamir, Junaid and Hasan in the first place. The entire balance has been self-destructed and with this you cant really expect to win big matches

I can understand that Fakhar is out of form but what on earth Imam is there for. Is he only capable to score runs against weaker oppositions. I strongly believe that Imam selection to the ODI Side has always been pre-mature. Thanks to his uncle Inzamam whose only goal seems to establish his.nephew and son.to the side at every cost. Imam is talented but he needed.one or two seasons to be on the national side.

I dont buy the logic of 80's and 90's of rivalry here. The matches between both sides are lot less than there used to be. Now regular serieses are not being played.

Its good that Pakistan is loosing only then the management can have some sense to select a balanced team.

Aaaah gutted to see Afghanistan lose this one. It was nearly a perfect chase but in the end they lost their way. What a team they have been in this Asia Cup! And as usual Bangladeshis celebrating as if they have won the world cup or something.

Well can't blame them. They held their nerve and they won a thriller. They deserve to celebrate, even if it's overboard and they act like they've won the world cup. Credit to them too.

Afghanistan once again showed has dangerous they can be as a side. They fought valiantly against a strong Pakistan team and Bangladesh even even though they lost marginally. They should be proud of themselves. But in the end I think they left too much for themselves in the end. It was always difficult scoring at a high rate on this pitch.

Yes, as @Villain or @Till Valhalla always say, they over rely on Rashid. He is a champ bowler but like today if played sensibly like how these two have played can cause no destruction. All credit to Imam and Babar, they played him well showed patience and took on other bowlers. Azam always impressed me but Imam has played really well.
I think it's @Villain who says that. I too believe that though but I think they are trying to build other but it's near impossible to have similar effect like Rashid.
