Ponting 8/138 (16)
An amazing 80 minutes of cricket with 159 runs scored for the loss of 9 wickets. The Bedford batsman still seemed to be in one day mode with the top three batsman all falling to undisciplined shots, however Harrison and Clarke-Smith launched an amazing counter attack, smashing 77 runs off the next 8 overs before Clarke-Smith was caught at mid off attempting a lofted on drive and the remaining 6 wickets fell for just 29 runs, leaving the first innings scores level.
