Australia in India

And his style of walking down the wicket to meet the ball could get him into trouble in future. The opposition will sort out that tactic and have plans in place for that.

But there's no doubt that he is one hell of a promising future star.
Yeah, Uthappa is a brilliant player. The sixes he hits walking down the pitch are absolutely amazing. They could try to bowl short at him but he can hit those for sixes too.

I agree let's not be sore winners. It was 1 T20, in which anything can happen. I'd really like to see a series of T20s played, so we can determine a winner over an aggregate.
But if you do this you will gain the moral high ground! Keep in mind that we aren't playing the Aussies for a while now so we can gloat as much as we want over the Twenty20. :)

Are we playing any T20 's on our tour to Australia? If yes, then that would be a real test of our skills.

So, India wins by seven wickets with a Dhoni six. Well, what else could you expect from the world champions.

Indeed.

I think Uthappa is our next Sachin. He's so consistent, and is a joy to watch. His reverse sweep was so awesome. He'll be the next person in the Indian team to be branded by MRF for sure. That is, if RBK lets him go.

Uthappa is not the next Sachin. For one, Tendulkar averaged about 65 in FC cricket before test selection, Uthappa currently averages around 40; Uthappa simply does not score highly enough to be the next Sachin nor does he score with as much grace. That being said, Uthappa has everything it takes to be one of the greats of his era - but Tendulkar is arguably one of the greatest ever.

Uthappa really seems to have a promising future. Really love his attitude, seems to be so cool all the time. But, he gotta work on his footwork to ensure success in the longer formats of the game. He surely has the talent.

He sure does. Better yet, he is cool and calm and has the right attitude.

Can the mods please keep the flaming on the forum under check. Some off topic discussions and flaming going on in the past few pages.

Sorry. I was watching the match downstairs.

Just the one on the tour of Australia.

not necessarily. We beat Australia in South Africa and that too on a wicket like Durban with bounce and pace. If Australia prepare a hard bouncy wicket, we will love it. If they prepare a seaming track with grass and movement, we have the bowlers to skittle them out. if they prepare a spinning track, we have the spinners to take advantage and our batsman dont play spin worse than many other teams in this world.

Well that's one match in the bag..:D

Dont say that. God forbid if we lose that match in Australia, this post of yours will be quoted extensively by the Aussie fans and we all would have to bear the brunt of that.

10.3 Pathan to Ponting, 1 run, 138.2, full length delivery, outside off stump, driven to long-off for a single

Good to see pathan bowling with that pace...and if people talking about extras...then we still had da game because 11 balls were still left and you can score many runs of those 11 balls in T20 when you have wickets in hand...

I'm sure his post was tongue-in-cheek.

What does Brad Hogg have to do to get a Twenty/20 game? He excels in the 50-over format yet he is continuously over-looked by the Aussie selectors.

India played like a team and deserved to win the match. This was Ponting's words too in presentation. ;) Well done Twenty20 World Champions :clap Except Sreesanth, everything looked fine for us. Harbhajan and MKarthik played a major role in slowing down the RR.. otherwise, they would have crossed 200 at ease.

Anyways, great win for us. :)

Ponting got a good score there. I think Australia should have gotten more though. Ponting got nearly half the runs.

Aussies deserved to lose.
The team selection was awful.
And they were under quite a lot of pressure.Very unlike Australia.
Mitch Johnson should have played-sad though.

Taking nothing awayfrom the Indians, they played really very very well.

I always thought Brad Hogg always being treated a bit harshly. I hope he gets selected in the Test side. Would be interesting to se how he goes.

What the hell is this? Whoever has been deciding the Aussie team since Buchannan retired after the World Cup has got absolutely no idea.

And what the hell were those stupid commentators on about ?
Ben Hilfy needs to play the first Test at Gabba ?
Are they outta their mind ?
