Australia in India

Stuart Clark should've got Man of the Match yesterday.

Nothing against Haddin but I felt Symonds & Hayden's knocks were more crucial in the state of the game and that Clark's spell of bowling really won us the game.

Clark has really turned it round for me, at first I thought he was undeserving but his starting to impress me.

I don't see what's so wrong with being confident when you're consistantly getting scores over 300 & getting ontop of the opposition.

Especially when the guy whose ranked the number #1 batsman in both Test & ODI cricket will be coming into the side in the next couple of games...

Because More often than not the game strikes back

Ponting may be ranked no 1 but coming after injury he will take time and the way indian bowlers use the new ball he will find it very hard to survive. In champions trophy he was really struggling with low bounce and swing.

Australians may get 300 batting first but when chasing 300 is always hard and i think
australian bowling is not a lot better than the indians if india bats first they should also score above 300.This series might as well be decided by the toss

To Johnson credit he has been bowling a lot quicker this tour, clocked up 149km/h and hes been swinging the new ball so the potential is there.

Yes he has great potential he does not swing the ball but hits the deck and extracts bounce at sharp pace and the wicket he got of sachin was not a inswinger as many thought but
it was a full ball which seamed of the pitch and beat tendulkar due to pace and the earlier delivery which was a bouncer .i remember in the 2003 world cup zaheer khan was so succesful because of this delivery as he was sharp then.

India rely too heavily on tendulkar and dravid in batting (for victory). No other player seems to be capable of getting a century against the aussies. To me Dhoni, Yuvraj, Gambir and Uthappa are just 50-60 runs players at most. But i've noticed one glaring difference between the team in twenty20 and the ODI team. There seems to be less team spirit which reflects on the below par fielding performance. I think the Big 3 may add to the batting but they do nothing for the team spirit. They don't play as a unit unlike in the twenty20 where if yuvraj failed Gambir stepped up or if dhoni failed rohit sharma stepped up. Yuvraj took the senior man role very well. I think younger players are intimidated by tendulkar especially.

Australia should be careful. The bowling attack is really only stuart clark and Hogg. Johnson is inconsistent and Lee isn't at his best. M. Clarke is doing a fine job but up against an in-form Sachin or Dravid or even Yuvraj he won't be able to bowl the full 10. Hopes is also fairly inconsistent and trust me India are going to resurge back. Australia can barely pull it off when that happens. I still think Hilfenhouse is better than both Lee and Johnson (remember the VB series against England and NZ) so drop Johnson. The batting has proven itself to have depth and with Ponting back well, obviously stronger.

Realistically I can't see Hilfy getting a go until the last few ODIs and even then it depends where the series is at. With Bracken back he'll more that likely get picked so Johnson will be dropped.

I thought bracken is gonna miss this series. Or was it hussey that was going to miss this series.

Dont give him too much importance. The way their team is winning, he is filled with arrogance that an Aussie fan is expected to have. I would be the same if I were in his shoes. One WC victory doesnt make our team the best, and one defeat here in this game doesnt make us bad.
Just to object to your generalisation there, just as Ben made a generalisation using curries, you made one using Australians as arrogant. Ben was arrogant, that has nothing to do with Australia as a whole.

Looking forward to the return of Punter, hopfully Hodge can keep his place (yes it's because he's a Victorian).

Harbhajan gives as good as he gets. His skills are well rounded and he is energetic in the field, which is good for morale. Whereas you might say Harbhajan is predictable, I think there are many more concerns over Powar. Australian batsmen will target his portly form in the field and if he has to bat, they will make it harder still for him with fast and accurate throws. There is much more pressure on Powar to bowl well.

I'd like to see Rohit Sharma in the team here.
Tendulakr has failed twice now,but still he wont be dropped.

You should be knowing, None of the cricketers will get dropped for failing just twice.. Especially his SIX against Brett lee still makes me to believe, he is in good touch. What an awesome six it was :hpraise

Gilli also failed horribly twice .. that doesn't mean to drop him in next match which just makes NO SENSE.

I know a lot of Indians are going to love what Iam going to say here...

Sreenath is a complete tool, see his face when he got Symonds out? Bahaha, that scrawny rat is too cocky I hope Symonds shows him whos boss when he sees him in a pub or something.

Although the first bit is right, Symonds should not assault Sreesanth in a pub because the whole point is that it is banter during a match and nothing more. Once the game is over, it all stops.
