Might've been a bad thing for Warne. He didn't get a chance to make his lead bigger.

Yeah Murali is much younger and will play for 2-3 more than Warnie. :(

With all due respect to Murali I think the world will admire Warne more than Murali. No matter how many wickets Murali takes, the label "chucker" will always take some shine off of his illustrious career.

Rahul I think you are from Mumbai or at least from India, did u see the Espn Cricket Show special for Murali, where he put his in plaster of paris cast and bowled all the suspect deliveries to Shastri and Slater...a real proof that he doesn't chuck broadcast across south asia. The truth is that he doesn't chuck, its just that his action is too incongruous in this cricket world. That doesn't take away anything from Warne. One who could bowl the delivery of last century to Gatting and a similar ripper to Basit Ali is sure the very best. the best leg spinner to walk on the planet till date. And I believe he was forseeing rightly when he said "Murali will pick up 1000"(at least 650-700). He has too many years left in him.

btw if Parthiv has to be replaced(he should be after those gigantic amounts of runs he gave away), I believe either Ajay Ratra or Dhoni are better replacements than Deep Dasgupta. Though u cannot displace a batsman who has a year average of 50+ against the toughest of opponents that easily.

I did not see but heard about it. That does not mean he will not chuck (by bowling the banned doosra) in real matches. If that is the case let him bowl with the plaster in real matches too.

I am not saying Dasgupta has to replace P. Patel. I am just saying that Dasgupta was kicked out of the team after few mistakes and P. Patel stays in the team after being pathetic every single match as wicket keeper

Well then, play Patel as regular batsman and let Dravid do the keeping. Dravid has and will do better job than P. Patel.

All I am saying is that P. Patel is still young and hence needs to go back and have some ranji exp. under his belt. His keeping will surely improve. Its no point in him making 50 runs and spilling catches and missing stumpings that cost 100+ runs for the team.

BTW Where's Sameer Dighe? He was one of the forgotten stars in India's home test series win in 2001. Had it not been for him India would have lost the 3rd test match and the series in Chennai. http://www.cricinfo.com/link_to_database/ARCHIVE/2000-01/AUS_IN_IND/SCORECARDS/AUS_IND_T3_18-22MAR2001.html

Sachin Tendulkar has confirmed that he will be fit to play Australia in the Nagpur Test which starts on Tuesday. Tendulkar had another net session at the MIG Club in Bandra on Saturday morning, and came through it without any discomfort.

Andrew Leipus, the Indian team physio, was also present, and he told reporters, "You can breathe a sigh of relief. He [Tendulkar] is fit and will be on the plane to Nagpur and he will play in the Test." Tendulkar, who has been practising with a lighter bat for less than a week, said much the same thing to boost Indian prospects ahead of a match that they must win in order to set up a series-decider in Mumbai.

After a 20-minute net session that began with defensive pushed but went on to more aggressive batting, Tendulkar told reporters: "there is nothing to say." He then relented, and added, "Good news. I feel pretty confident and comfortable while batting."

Yeh but I don't think Tendulkar will bat that good.

The GOD's back...critics galore...but on that afternoon 16 years ago nobody thought that a 16 year old with a bloody nose will rise, chuck out the blood and hit the next ball to the boundary - the bowler debutant then- a Pace bowling great now - Waquar Younis...if thats possible, this too is possible...if a man can fly back to UK straight from his father's funeral to hit a marvelously graceful century then he can play like he only does at a ground where he averages 158...behold, beware, fear, deify, defy but you cannot ignore the fact that the God's back...

Agarkar will replace Pathan in the third test match at Nagpur.

Ganguly has confirmed that Patel will not open the innings and that means either Yuvraj or Chopra will open the batting with Sehwag for India.

Tendulkar will play in third test match and hence that means that Kaif will have to sit out for this match.

Concerns about Harbhajan playing in third test following a viral infection. Harbhajan skipped practice on Monday due to fever. The team management is hoping that he recovers before the start of third test.

The grass on the pitch (straw colored) has been shaved off by pitch curator on request by Ganguly. Gilchrist feels that the pitch is similar to the pitches in Australia and the Aussies team management has included B. Lee in 12 man squad. He replaces N. Hauritz from the final 12 that made the Chennai test roster.
