I guess its up to young Patel to perform with the bat then, u gta remember tho he is still young and likely to make mistakes, even the greats make mistakes, over time he will probably get better....

yeah that sounds good. but he should probably make those greatest mistakes in ranji matches and try to improve his keeping. Looks like he is spending more (or maybe all) time concentrating on his batting.
he needs to play some ranji cricket for good 2-3 years and return to international cricket with good wk and batting skills. he is just 18 now and so he has ample time to improve.
i remember he made his debut in England, was he 16? its very early to give someone that young such a big responsibility and expecting him to do well, who was the keeper before Patel i remember someone played in the matches before Patel came in, in England, but who and why didnt he get his place back?
I think his name was Ratra or something like that. I can't really remember. He wasn't doing a great job so they gave Patel a go if I can remember rightly.
He didn't do much better or much worse and they just pretty much kept with him.
Australia 398 all out (Martyn 114, Clarke 91, Khan 4-95) and India 95-4 (McGrath 13-8-11-1).
Aussies well on top at the moment. Dravid's on 19 not out from 125 balls and Kaif 15 from 36 starting to build a partnership. They need a good one or they could be looking at following on.
I somehow knew when Z. Khan took 4 wickets that indian batsmen will face problems from Aussie pacers. And thats what happened. Time for the tail again to wag and get some runs. maybe India need to reverse their batting order.
