Australia tour of New Zealand 2010

Yep North will all but cement his spot for a few more Tests. Pressure might move back to Hussey if he fails in both Tests.

I think Hussey should be pretty set for a bit, he basically won/saved the 2nd Test against the Pakistanis and has been in decent nick recently

Yea hes been good of late but a failed Test series here will throw the pressure back on, basically what happened to North.

Tough to be an Aussie cricketer, you fail in one match and you're under pressure to secure your place in the side no matter how experienced you are :laugh

Sly, but the pressure on North is surely not just because of 1 series, its also cause he is a newcomer. Hussey has his history to fall back on, North does not.

This is such a bad test bowling line-up, it would be right down there with Bangladesh AFAIC (and atleast Bangladesh have bowlers capable of bowling over 140)

Dark times for New Zealand cricket.

Southee can bowl over 140... just not consistently.

And re Hussey you could say that he didn't save the test, the Pakistanis purposely lost it :P

Good day for Australia. We did ok but the last session was just a disaster. Was poor.

Clarke's hundred was excellent though.

Yeah, I'm sure if you ask the PCB, they'll all but tell you Pakistan have never lost a match that wasn't fixed. :laugh

89.1
Arnel to Clarke, 1 run, length ball dropped into the off side and a quick call for a very tight single to cover. Big dive from North but Watling misses the run out attempt

Cricinfo's reaction to Clarke's ton.....

Great batting from Clarke and North, no doubt about it. 153 runs in the last sessions says it all. As usual NZ couldnt apply the pressure all day, same old story with them. They will be right in there for one session, then let all the pressure off. Time and time again over the past 20 years its been the same.

Typical Clarke innings though, starts off slowly always, and builds, no fuss. That SCG ton vs SA was the same, as was the previous knock at the MCG.
