I never knew till now that NZ is good competitor to West Indies in displaying crappy form of cricket. :sarcasm The way they played this test is just next to rubbish.
Huge dependency on Vettori in every game? Ross Taylor is definitely talented but matured enough to play tests?
While New Zealand might be ok at times, this kind of showing does nothing but reinforce a call for two tiers.
LAST 10 TEST SERIES
Bangladesh : LLWLLLLLLL = P10 W1 D0 L10
West Indies : LLLWDLDLLL = P10 W1 D2 L7
New Zealand : WDLLDWLLWL = P10 W3 D2 L5
The one Bangladesh series win was over a depleted West Indies side, the West Indies series win over England when England collapsed for just over 50. New Zealand's last three series wins were all against Bangladesh, so those three sides have beaten a decent Test side (England) once between them and the only other series wins have come against each other - with New Zealand "top dog" among the mongrels
Pakistan have had a poor trot of recent form, but towards the start of the following 10 series run they had a run of four series wins out of five which including England, India, Sri Lanka and West Indies, then narrow back to back series defeats against South Africa and then 0-1 in India.
Pakistan
05/06 PAK 2-0 ENG
05/06 PAK 1-0 IND
05/06 SRI 0-1 PAK
2006 ENG 2-0 PAK (3-0 if you count the abandoned Test as an England win)
06/07 PAK 2-0 WIN
06/07 SAF 2-1 PAK
06/07 PAK 0-1 SAF
07/08 IND 1-0 PAK
08/09 PAK 0-0 SRI
09/10 SRI 2-0 PAK
09/10 NZE 1-1 PAK
09/10 AUS 3-0 PAK
Not so many series wins, but decent enough results which aren't a million miles off what might happen to England in the same series
