Australia tour of New Zealand 2010

How much longer is Jesse Ryder going to be injured? He has been out for an eternity.

If all goes well he should be back for the world T20. He was back playing club cricket today.

Its a difficult one but as far as I am concerned and I think you will agree with me we can't add another pure bowler at this time the batting is just not good enough which means if we arn't playing a Franklin/Oram we have to go for another batsman ok thats fine but my concern is when someone like Styris starts going the distance we don't really have anyone we can turn to Guptill/Williamson I wouldn't trust as reliable options at this time.

Guess we are missing Ryder and Elliott for more than just their batting right now. Until one of them comes back I feel we need to play Franklin/Oram.

Yeah you're probably right, but when we get back to full strength I hope we start playing someone who does at least one discipline pretty well.

Fantastic match. Australia getting home, but almost. Great fightback by New Zealand. They could've won, had it not been for Johnson.

I agree with Mossy. Australia shouldn't have allowed the opposition to come so close to winning the game, which is pretty much what they did in the past game.

But well, this is one of the most determined New Zealand team playing against their biggest rivals. Its an India-Pakistan series of the Australasian continent and boy am I lovin it :clap

I'd go with this line up for game 3.

1. McCullum
2. Ingram
3. Guptill
4. Taylor
5. Styris
6. Stewart
7. Vettori
8. McCullum
9. Tuffey
10. Bond
11. Southee

Aus/NZ and Ind/Pak always end up being a close series despite their current ranking differences.

Just got back, was in the West stand i.e. the stand where White was hitting his 6s before he got out. Had 4 people ejected and it was the stand where the chants were started. Lucky Johnson didn't come our way as he would have copped it big time. Hussey was copping it a bit from this guy who seemed to have history with him, kept talking about his wife.

As for the game another brilliant one and was great being part of the crowd, the lows and then the highs when the wickets fell all the way to the last one. Was hard seeing what happened, couldn't even see if the ball was wide half the time. Bollinger picked a crap time to have his worst game I've even seen, Johnson was Johnson and Harris stepped up nicely. Hauritz was easy meat and Watson likewise. Vettori was awesome, knew he would play that sort of knock, couldn't really tell that he was exposing his stumps until the replay but he was doing dam well playing that shot until the last one.

Batting wise once again Clarke too slow for my liking, hes lost quick singles he had against Pakistan and WI and now hes returning to the form that saw a lot of people calling for him to be dropped from ODIs. Watson was way too defensive too and like a few players got out before he could up the tempo. Haddin started slowly but stepped up nicely until that ripper by Vettori.

Surely you got involved in the Johnson chants? :p

Lol I was saying Johnson sucked in his last over to try and jinx him. Had a few Aussies around me which was great, one wasn't too happy with my Johnson chant! Had a heap of beer bottles under my seat (I wonder why :p). And the guy behind me was "dropping" his drink on my seat.

I of course would like to see Stewart also. Smashing a FC hundred today won't hurt his chances either haha. Nathan McCullum can and should replace Franklin.

If Williamson is going to be selected i'd rather it wasn't at 6 so i'd have him in my squad as cover but he has to bat top 4 IMO. Perhaps that means Guptill moves down as his form's been iffy. Might work like it did in the tests. Williamson has to bat at 3 for me like he does for ND. He knows that role. Being so young it's unfair to make him come out at 6 and try smash it when he's not used to it.

Other than Stewart, Hopkins has done ok, he deserves another go especially if McCullum's back is still bad. We need his back right for the tests. I don't see any other batsmen good enough right now except Williamson or Stewart and probably Watling who also seems more a top order player.

Haha nice, there did seem to be quite a few Aussie fans in the crowd from what was shown on T.V.

Howsie added 1 Minutes and 29 Seconds later...

Any idea when the squad will be announced?

Later tonight apparently, we probably won't find out until tommorow morning though.

Yea the ASB stand had a group of them, and I counted 6 Aussie flags around the ground, only saw like 1 or 2 NZ ones, they were more the silver fern flag.
