Australia tour of South Africa, 2008/09

I sensed a backlash when the South Africans started "woo hooing" and carrying on like a bunch of 12 yr olds trying to rub it in after each Australian wicket fell on the 2nd day.

That is just plain stupid behaviour, and all it does is make their own collapse even more humiliating.

I had to say that, SouthAfrica are going from best to worse  No competition at all in the first two tests.. They are playing like they are on vacation

McKenzie has been saved by Smith's injury. Prince in no question, Amla will probably move to the top. Maybe Prince at 3 unless Kallis wants to go back to that spot.

Just seeing Johnson spell yesterday made me think what it would have been like having Lee at his peak along side. Geez that would be scary. Siddle even though he clocked 150km/h didn't seem to rush the batsmen as much as Johnson did.

Lee
Johnson
Siddle
Clark

Even Hilfenhaus touched 149.5 ks yesterday :D

Steyn bowled some massive bouncers to Hussey,North and others but our players ducked them with ease ;) Proteas cant even ducked those bouncers from Hilfy :p

Yep I am enjoying this revenge series in SA. SA kicked our behinds here, and now it's our turn to return the kick in SA. Of course it aint over till it's over, but our kicking boot is for sure warmed up! Ahh I love cricket, but when Australia go well, it's just cricket paradise for me! :D

Geez that was quick, Siddle on a hattrick first ball he bowls next inns. Ponting doesn't enforce the follow on, this was a good time for him to do it but I guess he doesn't want to bat last on this pitch so fair enough.

the aussies are 68/1,already a lead of 282......not looking bright for the proteas

Geez this crowd is dead, we have hit a few 4s and there is no clapping. Where have the Aussie fans gone! Morkel is certainly looking good today once again and SA have bowled better to Hughes.

Exactly mate! That's what I said earlier in this thread. I am dissapointed in the SA crowds for thier lack of sportsmanship. Here Aussies applauded when SA players did well. Why can't the SA crowd applaud our guys? It's plain rude and sure they are stunned, but give credit where it's due puleasse!

:cheers

Oh and I love when Hughes hits the ball sweetly, the sound is like music to my ears :D

Like i said yesterday cannot say the pitch has changed heaps its just aussies have bowled alot better an our batsmen have performed alot better.

Or are people going to try an say the pitch has completely changed again

Great stuff from the aussies so far.
Keep it up

I'm not sure if we'll ever see Ponting enforce a follow on against one of the major sides. Against Bangladesh sure, but that Dravid/Laxman stand of '01 is still haunting Aussie cricket.

The most anyone had bowled was Mitch who bowled 16 overs, and he'd just had all night to rest up. There could be no talk of resting bowlers for this one. I would have loved to see Ponting give the ball to Mitch again and say 'run through 'em again champ'. But no, we obviously aren't going to do that anymore. It's not as though the pitch is going to turn into a spitting cobra on the last day either. Oh well. We'll just set the SA boys about 550-600 to win instead :D

Well who knows what the pitch will be like on the last day. There certainly is cracks which will open up so I won't blame Ponting for taking the safer option and not test fate by batting last.

SA haven't made our batters play enough and so once again the wicket looks flat even though there was some overcast conditions. Pretty much the difference in this match has been Johnson and of course our openers.

Aussies have turned everything around. Like people have said earlier in this thread, the SA fans arent showing much sportsmanship, as they just witnessed their team come to Australian and kill us, and we've gone over there with the same attitude they bought here.
And that was the humiliate them

Will be interesting when we declare. I would probably bat them out of the game as 2 days to get 500 could be possible if our bowlers have an off day.
