Australia tour of South Africa, 2008/09

Hughes has a freaking ugly technique, who's better him or Ryder.

You can't say who's better until it's been long enough to decide. And probably then people will be arguing that "Ryder has faced tough conditions in ....." or something along those lines.

Harris certainly got things going for SA, Hughes luck ran out there but the ball pitch well outside offstump. Wish we referred it.

Albie is bowling with good pace, now he is the type of bowling all rounder that I would want at 8 if we want to go down that route. Hes been pretty accurate and his pace is lively.

Good start by SA

We have one Shane Watson trouble is hes always injured and wont be bowling for a while.

I too hope Macdonald fails with the bat to prove once an for all his batting is no where near good enough at this level.
And he doesnt pick up any cheap wickets so thats hes GONE.

This referral system is really starting to annoy me already.
Everytime theres a close shout oooooo are they going to refer it or not.
Or as soon as someones given out oooo hang on gotta wait it might get referred.

Then we find out ooooo they should of used a referral on that one.

Take it out of players hands and leave it upto the umpires.
In rugby its not up to the players to stand around thinking hmmm im pretty sure i scored we better use up a referral to see. Its all up to the umpire.

There should be unlimited referrals an thats why it should be in the umpires hands to decide when to call for 1.
They either want to try an get every decision right or completely forget about the whole referral idea.
Shouldnt be any of this oooo i think im not out but its close should i use a referral or not.

If McDonald scores runs here with our situation then he could well steal back the number 6 spot after all the selectors have found every way possible to keep him in the side.
We badly need Hussey to make runs as once he and then Clarke go it becomes a lottery. Haddin is good for about 50 runs before he does something crazy and gets out.

Didn't realise my boy Khan was playing :D I expect big things. Well I've probably just cursed him but oh well.

Good bowling from South Africa this morning but it's a lot easier taking wickets against a team who's won the series.

South Africa are racing away. The Australian first wicket fell at 58-1 for 22.4 overs and South Africa are already on 42-0 after 8.3 overs. It's a good approach of South Africa, but in the last overs of the days they will probably defend.

I just was going to say. First match he is playing and he got hit for a six on his second. The cricinfo commentator probably enjoyed it too.

11.2 McGain to Prince, SIX, Prince says hello to the veteran debutant and sends the ball soaring over long-on. He jumped down the track and lofted it cleanly
