Australia tour of West Indies

To say we are in trouble is an understatement. Jaques, Katich, Ponting and Hussey all back in the sheds. Johnson needs to hang around and support Hodge tommorow.

Man, what a fightback. Like Kev said, who the hell needs 2020? THIS is cricket.

Seriously, for all the talk about the flash value of the IPL and the 20/20, this game shows why test cricket will continue to remain the cornerstone of cricket in years to come. I can't wait for tomorrow. Symonds and Hodge are the key wickets for West Indies.

I enjoyed today's play. I was up all night, but fell asleep for an hour and a half before tea.
So did Chanderpaul actually get knocked out?

Gilly Fan added 0 Minutes and 51 Seconds later...

some people are going to wake up upset in Australia

Mate, we got the replacement for Gilly who will nicely slot in with a ton. :)

Geez looks like that India test match all over again. All our big guns are out and Katich struggling to convert his pre tour form into Test form. Hodge has the chance to make a name for himself now.

I would absolutely love it now, if Haddin gets out on a cheap score. I really cannot wait for tomorrow.

well this has just been brilliant stuff by Chanderpaul. Once again he proves his worth to the team and gets a hundred against the top side in the world. And all that after being knocked out by a Lee bouncer, what a champ.
Good support by Morton and Bravo, I wish that Bravo could have stuck around for a little more and get his 50 because he deserved it big time.
Really unhappy with the way the tail performed especially Ramdin and Sammy, both of those guys needed to step up their game and support Chanders but they failed big time.
Excellent reply by the windies bowlers, Edwards has the pace going and Powell surprised me with the wickets, great ball to get rid of Hussey. Hopefully tomorrow they can get the nightwatchman in the first 2-3 overs and work on Hodge, Symonds and Haddin.

Is this the West Indies I wanted to see for years now.

MAny though Australia will walk all over West Indies, but looking at this first test, boy we havea good contest up our way

Sri Lanka wasn't really a team to win against, since they have a bad record overseas.

Australia is the team W.I needs to beat.
and looking at end of play, West Indies may surely win this, BUT, BUT, they need to take wickets and take them fast between open play- Lunch, AND don't let Australia get over 300runs lead.

Because If Australia gets over 300run+ W.I would be in trouble.
they must get Aus all out by Lunch or longest by tea.

Because West Indies have a big tail, like what we saw today.
After Bravo no other player can stand up to the Australia Attack.

Let the Fire, Fire Fidel, lets get another 5wkt haul.
Let the power out Powell.
with support of Bravo, Sammy and Amit.J.
We can take out Australia.

What a superb end session by the West Indians there. First with Chanderpaul making his century and then a fiery fury by Edwards and Powell have completely crippled the Australians. The West Indians have really pulled their socks up and are well into the middle-order of this Australian line-up. A couple of quick wickets in the morning and we will have a thriller of a match.

I still feel that Australia will win this match. Somehow one player will stand up and will win the match for Australia. This is the best chance for Haddin to show his worth.

But it would be good for the series if Australia loses the first Test. They will have to win the rest of the two matches to seal the series. And maybe then Gayle will return.

Damn, this is cricket. IPL is nice, i'm not putting it down in any way, but Test cricket is king.

I didn't watch the match live, but having Australia 17-4 at the end of the third day is awesome. West Indies are an awesome team to watch. Calypso Cricket at its best, c'mon West Indians.

I guess we will all have to wait and see the mighty Aussies win then, from where it is at this time, I know they are thinking of surviving the first session in the morning. West Indies the underdogs, well that is a very good way to bite, :D

I like how Fidel has stepped it up in the absence of Taylor. He has put the ball in the right places for a guy who has been known to lose control. He has put his short balls in a good spot and his pace has been great.
