Australia tour of West Indies

Hopes/Marsh
Watson/Katich
Ponting
M. Hussey
M. Clarke
Symonds
D. Hussey/White
Haddin/Ronchi
Lee
S. Clark/Johnson
Bracken

My ODI team, pretty much the same as everyone else. The name listed first is who I think will be more likely to play, though I reckon Ronchi and perhaps Marsh will get a go in the T20.

Katich isn't with the ODI squad so you can rule him out.

I don't think they will open with both Watson and Hopes, 2 all rounders. I believe one of them will (more likely Watson) as well as Clarke. The thing I love about having Watson and Hopes in the team is that they add 2 fairly quality pace options, as well as a quality bat, meaning we can chuck more batsmen in. Its a dream lineup really, the Windies bowlers are going to have to work very, very hard.

I think Ronchi, Marsh and D Hussey are playing.

Australia will rest some players after a tough Test series and the leading candidates are Andrew Symonds, who has been battling back spasms, and Brad Haddin, who has a broken finger. The squad has been bolstered by the arrival of several players fresh from successful Indian Premier League (IPL) stints, including the Player of the Series, Shane Watson, and the tournament's leading run scorer, Shaun Marsh, who is likely to make his Twenty20 international debut. If Haddin sits out, Luke Ronchi will be playing his first game for Australia. Nathan Bracken has spent the past few months recovering from knee surgery but is considered a reasonable chance of playing.

Australia (possible) 1 Shaun Marsh, 2 Michael Clarke, 3 Ricky Ponting (capt), 4 Shane Watson, 5 Michael Hussey, 6 David Hussey, 7 James Hopes, 8 Luke Ronchi (wk), 9 Brett Lee, 10 Mitchell Johnson, 11 Nathan Bracken.

Marsh deserves his 20/20 selection, Clarke at opener interesting but could work seeing as hes not as effective when needing to score runs. Ronchi is way too low though, he really should be opening and we just hope he fires if not we got a heap after him.

Yep, seems like a very probable lineup. I bet SOS will get out first ball after the incredible scoring in India.

Good chance for Marsh, David Hussey and Ronchi to show what they've got. Marsh and Hussey are in contention for ODI spots so they have a lot to play for. Spose thats a benefit of 2020, Australia get to give some guys a tryout and we get treated to a different lineup :p

Even I think he will play the ODI's.But the Aussies might even rest him as they have many all-rounders in the side.
About the 'no-change' in FC,once the game starts, hmm,we have been thinking about it.

Icyman: Regarding the closing of the FC squad, how much time is there between the closing and the actual start of the match??

Part time bowling is cannon fodder in T20. You can't rely on the bowling so many part timers in the team, White, Hussey, Hopes, Watson, Johnson . lol I reckon they should've dropped someone for Hilfenhaus, I mean why blood so many batsmen and so little bowlers when it's the latter which we need.

well I like this 20/20 squad that the WI selected. lots of youngsters Edwards is the oldest one and he is only 26 years old. its hard to judge players based on their 20/20 performances but i will be watching Perkins, Fletcher and Roach I hope they perform.

Roach bowling at good speed, one ball at 89.2 mph. and he bowls from a short run up, should have been in the test team instead of Powell.

WI making a fist of it. Marshall just hit a huuuge six that went 94 metres.

They're 0-34 after 2 overs!

I rest my case, Johnson is not made for the International level. I said it after the CBS yet people still wanted him in the ODI side, well see 1st over.

Syl, it's a lovefest with the Australian selectors.

The Windies are going CRAZY!!! Fans and batsmen! 51 after 3 overs! That's 17 an over.

Yea I know, we should have blooded some younger bowlers. Hilfy would have been a good start, and Noffke who went alright in his last outing for Australia.

And geez whats up with Lee, not what you want from your spearhead.

damn X is killin em, he should be good for them in the ODIs to come. really impressed me so far, and Roach too looks like a good bowler.

Just remember, it's a E11. ;)

There's bound to be boundaries.

I heard a noise there. But the ball seemed too far away from the bat.
