Australia vs Pakistan | Test & T20I UAE Tour

Three new debutants for Australia confirmed.
Aaron Finch
Travis Head
Marnus Labuschagne
Will all be test players by tomorrow. Congrats to them, all have definitely worked for it.

Renshaw has been left out for the simple reason of not playing enough cricket on the lead up to this series. Massive disappointment for Renshaw fans like myself.

Happy to see Peter Siddle return to the test side, brings loads of test experience that this squad just doesn't have. Great selection from the selectors.

Australia XI for first Test: Aaron Finch, Usman Khawaja, Shaun Marsh, Mitch Marsh, Travis Head, Marnus Labuschagne, Tim Paine (c), Mitchell Starc, Peter Siddle, Nathan Lyon, Jon Holland.[DOUBLEPOST=1538809659][/DOUBLEPOST]I had no issues with the test selection. Would of been a very tough session for the selectors but i think they've made the right choices.

It also included 6 Queenslanders, i can't just bash it.

Sammy Heazlett?
So people want Maxwell to be selected for the test series, and get all mad when he isn't selected.
Now we are mad that he was selected for the T20's?
You can never please everyone.
Do you think SAMMY H test material?

Sure. Not a front-runner for selection at the moment. But he could make this next shield season his own.

I feel sorry for Renshaw I really like his style,
I disappoint of Patterson of NSW Aus not use him correctly

He was #4 player but they ruin his career as opener or # 3 .I think he should try at 5 vs india in test.

What's happen to Handscomb?[DOUBLEPOST=1538812507][/DOUBLEPOST]

I agree. I reckon Sam is ready for limited overs internationals. But he needs another strong Shield season under his belt to be considered for the Baggy Greens. Does this also apply to the other classy leftie Jake Weatherald? I reckon he is already primed for Test cricket and can consider himself unlucky not to be in the UAE.

How lucky is Labuchagne.. not a chance six months ago now he finds himself about to debut for his country. He needs a solid score if he is to regain his spot once Renshaw returns next test. I see him having a big match as he is a specialist short leg and there will be plenty of spin play.. plus he is not too shabby a leggie.

Handscomb is paying for his poor technique and his lack of runs in his last 5 tests . He says he and Justin Langer have been working on fixing a few things.. He is back to scoring 50 over runs.

Patterson has bundles of talent but his big problem is converting 50s. Most batsmen would be pleased to have as many First Class half tons as he has to be honest. He has a better FC average than either Head or Labu. The good thing for him is Cricket Aust. still has him on its radar.

I rate Weatherald quite highly. Should replace Warner as our opener for limited overs.
Labuschagne has plenty of potential but i don't think he is ready. I think this will give him a taste of test cricket, and if he wants more, then he'll improve his game to that level. He's been spoken highly by Langer and his teammates for his work ethic. If he continues to work hard of his game i'm sure he'll have a big future for Australia.

Jake will be in the ODI and T20 squad very soon. Big match player and a natural striker. No one can replace anyone, he will be in the team for all round hitting ability.
