Im with you there Inbox24. Mark Vermuelan picking fights with the crowd is poor behaviour this is just a clown standing infront of a photo. Build a bridge and get over it.

You forgot to give someone credits for those pictures. ;)

Anyway I don't like it either like they handled him. First Ponting started gesturing to him and then Martyn pushed, and some other players asked, him away.
Yeah sorry lol.Credit goes to ZexyZahid for finding these pictures. :D

Talk about overreaction! Just because India didn't win the trophy geez get over it.
Hahahaha, this is probably the most unrelated comment in the mess.

I watched the video and Pawar was being a little lethargic. They probably should have waited for him to amble off, anyhow.

for example: getting out of the way of a photo!
Right, because if he didn't get out the way that very instant, the opportune moment to take the photo would have passed.

Possibly Sohum... had they not got through it as quickly as possible and gotten a beer to Symonds things could have ended up far uglier :p

Personally I think it's all fairly meaningless, something being made out of nothing which isn't surprising since that's what newspapers and newstations thrive on.

Had Ponting started hurling abuse at Pawar for fielding too many sub fielders then maybe it would be worth a full on controversial news story :p

I just watched the thing, why wasn't the Cup handled over before hand? The commentator was saying that was the end of the presentations but what happened to handing over the trophy?

Anyway, Ponting asked him to move after getting the trophy, there was no need to push him by Martyn as he was starting to move off out of the way (very slowly). From the highlights of it the news host were laughing at it, pretty much what I was doing.

the way ponting signalled to get the trophy showed arrogance just imagine if somebody from subcontinent had done that there have been comments how uncivilised they were.it was just in bad taste i imagine if ganguly was there he would have shoved the cricket australia ceo :D :D .i personally could have given both martyn and ponting a good lesson may be jail :D :D

Why have so many people in this thread used the, "had it been an Asian" you'd be talking differently? By the same token had the guy that was pushed been some nobody from England or Australia, would anything have been made of the story?

Both comments are ridiculous, I think some people might need some ketchup to go with their chips :p

so if someone is standing in front of your family photo, and you tell them to move and they dont do anything, what do you do then?

I agree. Sachin Tendulkar mentioned the fat bloke as "dear to the cricketers". Who the hell is he?! I've never heard of him!

The gesture from Ricky Ponting has nothing to do with it either. That's not manners, that's just a bit of fun. It was like he was saying "we haven't won this before, hand it over". Good on you.

This should not go any further. If it does, as I said I will start to doubt this sport. The fat bloke got ushered out of the way. Get over it! If he had been standing in front of my photo, I would just shout "OI, SOD OFF"! :D

It's taken me a fair few replays to finally notice it...and it's nothing. Hardly a tap. If that happened to an Australian I wouldn't care, before anyone asks.
