Australian Domestic Cricket

Jesus christ, Smith is murdering them, 5 sixes and 0 fours. They're not just clearing the ropes either, they're hitting the roof!

Katich nooo! Mistimed streaky drive in the air to cover. Drew has had a good day. Third player to get out in the 30s, but if Smith can keep finding partners, they'll still get a workable score.

Steve Smith hasn't quite been in the form of Matthew Wade yesterday, but different conditions abound. Wade hit boundaries to all parts of the vast MCG, where as Smith has simply mowed them all over a relatively short North Sydney cow corner boundary. However, Wade finished the innings 1 run short of a maiden and potentially Australian record 50, while Smith could yet make a much bigger score.

Some interesting shots coming out now, deft touch on the back knee to the point boundary, then the gentlest of hooks over fine leg. First he was all 6s, now he's all 4s.

Drew's day ruined. 3/35 in 9 overs; 3/56 in 10.

That was an epic over by Smith, the future of Australia's middle order looks in good shape with Smith and Wade producing some amazing quick scoring.

O'Keefe mis-slogs to backward point. Not sure if trying to match Smith is the right idea. Not yet a costly mistake, because here's Lee. Let's see what becomes of him.

Ah, there it is. Smith trying some sort of weird paddle from wide outside off; timed it perfectly into his stumps.

They'd be extremely happy with that result given the start, but in general it's not a winning score at that ground. With the early pace of the pitch giving way to seemingly much better batting conditions, Tasmania could play a lot better from the outset and stay ahead of the game.

Against Lee and Clark? I don't think so.

Neither will bowl their best and Clark's only going to be good if the batsmen stay in their shell.

Lockyear carrying on where he left off last match after the life by Hughes. Someone check Hazelwood speed for me when he comes on, which could be soon the way Clark is going.

Wow more of Lockyear, fast becoming the David Warner for this season.

And he gets a nick. The dangerous Dighton wasn't at ease with the pace and bounce, no feet, a loose swing and it doesn't break any fingers. A good wicket for NSW, but they'll want to test the captain Bailey here.

When Hazlewood played in New Zealand last season his speed was around the 125-132 mark, what's he clocking up in this match?

Haha RF is a bit too quick for mind. Good to know hes not under 130km/h, that would do my head in. Hes got his first ODD wicket and hes gone well so far. Run out seems to be the theme of the day for ruining a good innings. First Hughes, now Lockyear.
