Shaun Tait took the first wicket of the West Indies tour with the dismissal of left handed opener Devon Smith for 10 to put the West Indies "A" under pressure early at 1/27.
Coming around the wicket, Tait managed to beat Smith in pure pace and swing as the ball cannoned into the pad while Smith attempted to play back and accross to a ball that swung from off to leg.

Ramdin Leads From The Front - West Indies "A" 1/78
West Indian wicketkeeper and opening batsman Denesh Ramdin brought up his half century to lead his side to 1/78 half an hour prior to lunch on the first day at Barbados. Ramdin's 72 ball innings has been a collection of watchful defence and stylish strokeplay against the pace quartet of Shaun Tait, Stuart Clark, Shane Watson and Andrew Symonds.
Welcome back to sunny Bridgetown Barbados, Im Mark Nicholas and with me I have former Australian test opening batsman Michael Slater. Now slats we have seen a pretty even contest so far today.
Yes Mark it looked like Australia might have ripped through the top order when Shaun Tait struck early but Denesh Ramdin really faught hard against Tait and Clark and has allready posted his half century.
Stuart Clark hasnt bowled overly well today?
No not yet unfortunatly. Theres a tough contest going on between Clark and Tait but Stuey has just been a bit unlucky, however he just needs to keep at it, he bowled well against India and if he keeps putting it in the right areas he will be a threat.
Ok slats thanks for the input there. Well it looks like the players are returning to the field so we will return to the action.
