Gilly was unlucky there, shame the tail doesnt fall as easily in real life! Should be a tight game this but if SA get a good start it could make things interesting!
I think Aussies should win easily as South Africans wont be able to play two class spinners on final day. But we can expect a close game here if SA gets to a good start and Smith plays a big one.
Please visit my story below and help with few suggestions.
Australia needed early wickets to continue its momentum in the 2nd test at Cape Town, and early wickets are what they got. With South African openers Herschelle Gibbs and Graeme Smith aware of the hour remaining in the second days play, the mindset was quite clearly to defend and defend until the day was out and take the shine off the new ball.
However things did not go to plan when the pitch produced a gremlin and the ball kept and shot low for a Brett Lee shorter ball, true to form, Graeme Smith leaned back and attempted to pull the ball away but it struck him at the top of his pads and was adjudged LBW for 9 - meaning that Lee has dismissed the left handed captain 3 times from his last 3 innings, for only a combined total of 26 runs.
Herschelle Gibbs was the last man out in the day, playing forward early to Stuart MacGills ripping leg spinner which flew straight off the bat to Ricky Ponting at silly mid off, South Africa in deep trouble at 2/14 from 19 agonisingly tense overs. However dangerman Jacques Kallis is still at the crease on 1*.
Hour Update South Africa - 2/14 (2 Wickets 14 Runs)
H. Gibbs 2 (39)
G. Smith 9 (35)
J. Kallis 1* (25)
J. Rudolph 1* (15)
