Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly began a return to form with a solid half century to take India past 300 runs in the first innings of the test against Australia. Ganguly celebrated his half century off only 86 balls to take India to 8/306 in the effort of setting an imposing total on the home side on a green GABBA pitch.
Alot will rely on Ganguly if the tourists are to get anywhere near a strong score of 350+ on a difficult track.
Glenn McGrath picked up his 2nd wicket of the match with yet another beautiful outside edge to put the tourists in a delicate position at 9/307 in the first session of play on day 2 of the test match.
McGrath again found that nagging lineup outside off stump which eventually produced a thick outside edge that flew to Justin Langer at 3rd slip to dismiss Zaheer Kahn for 1. The wicket again proving that bowling on a good line outside off stump will produce wickets on this seamers GABBA pitch.

Sourav Ganguly's defiant stand finally came to an end as India were bowled out for 10/328 in the first session of play on day 2 of the test match against Australia.
Shane Warne claimed his second, and the final wicket of the innings as Ganguly attempted to launch Warne over the mid on with the field kept up protecting the single. However Ganguly could only manage to sky the ball high in the air in the direction of Michael Hussey at mid on, the Western Australians 3 catch on debut.
Ganguly's innings ended on a fighting 61 from 98 balls as he took his side to a much stronger position of 10/328.
Guatam Gambhir, Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly all showed their class for the tourists while the Australians shared the wickets, Brett Lee claiming best figures with 3 wickets.
