59 extras.ahh!!

yeah quite a few byes early because the ball was moving around quite a bit off the seam and gilchrist couldnt take them for some reason. also a few no balls and leg byes. but mainly because the bowlers got some movement early on in the innings

Agarkar Fires Early - Australia 1-4

Ajit Agarkar fired India off to a perfect start as he dismissed Australian opener Matthew Hayden for only 1 as Australia fell to 1-4 in only the 4th over of the Australian innings.

Hayden looked to get on top of the pace pairing of Zaheer Khan and Ajit Agarkar but was beaten by a short ball from the later. Hayden attempted to pull Agarkar to the vacant square leg/mid wicket region but instead found the top edge which flew down to Gautam Gambhir at fine leg.

The pressure will be now on Ricky Ponting and Justin Langer as Australia are fielding a relatively new pairing of Michael Clarke at 4, Michael Hussey at 5 and Shane Watson at 7.

Khan Claims Langer - Australia 2/26

Zaheer Khan struck another blow in the Australian response with the wicket of Justin Langer for 8 as Australia crawled to 2/26 only 1 over before lunch on day 2 of the test match.

Khan produced one of the balls of the match to beat the outside edge of Langer that clipped the top of off stump to leave the home side in serious trouble looking to chase down the Indians first innings score of 328.

The left arm quick put a grin on all seem bowlers playing at the Gabba by showing that there is still considerable movement on the green wicket, which should make for an interesting remaining 4 days play.

Good start by the pacers! Hopefully Nehra and Harbhajan can continue the good work!

Sack those 2 openers... bring in... Cosgrove!

way to fat for international cricket :p. maybe if he loses another 10 kg ill consider him for selection hehe

Clarke Goes Cheaply - Australia 3/42

Michael Clarke became Ajit Agarkars 2nd wicket for the match as he chopped a short ball on to be dismissed for 10 with the score on 3/42 as Australia struggle early on day 2 of the 1st test.

Agarkar produced a short ball outside off stump which cut back slightly at the right handed protege who attempted to cut the ball through the point region. However the pitch produced enough assistance for Agarkar that the ball hit Clarke in the wrist that dropped down onto the top of his off stump.

It is now time for Western Australian batsman Michael Hussey to face his first ball in test cricket in one of the more difficult situations he has faced in his time playing for Australia.
