Great batting by Gilchrist. You might well have just snuck a win out of them if you bowl well

Warne Makes Breakthrough - India 1/32

Shane Warne made the early breakthrough by dismissing 1st test hero Gautam Gambhir for only 11 as India slipped to be 1/32 on the 2nd days play in Adelaide.

Warne tempted the left handed opener into a leg sided shot that flew straight to the ever reliable Andrew Symonds at short fine leg. It was a crucial wicket for the Auststralians after Gambhirs excellent start to the tour in the first test with a century and half century in his first two innings respectively.

Welcome back Waugh, Hope you are feeling better.

Great start for the Aussies and Warney :)

Symonds Snares Sehwag - India 2/45

Andrew Symonds snared the prize scalp of Indian vice captain for 24 to leave India at 2/45 in their first innings of the 2nd test. Symonds and Warne switched roles from the dismissal of Sehwags partner Gautam Gambhir, this time Warne taking the catch on the square leg fence as Sehwag attempted to pull a short pitched ball from Symonds.

Star Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar and captain Rahul Dravid will now have to build on the innings to keep India in the match.

Lee Fires Tendulkar - India 3/52

Brett Lee made the crucial breakthrough by dismissing argueably the worlds best batsman Sachin Tendulkar for 4 as India slipped into trouble at 3/52.

Lee produced a typically attacking pull stroke from the Indian number 4 but Tendulkar could only get the toe of the bat to the short ball that appeared to sit up slightly. The ball then flew comfortably to Michael Clarke who took a regulation catch at square leg.

India Into Futher Misery - India 4/59

India lost former captain Sourav Ganguly for only 1 as Inida slipped into a dangerous position at 4/59. Ganguly played all around a Shane Warne full toss as he was bowled off stump looking to pull the ball to mid wicket.

India will now rely heavily on Rahul Dravid to rescue the situation along with Yuvraj Singh and Mahendra Dohni.

Captain Digs In - India 4/98

Indian captain Rahul Dravid showed his fighting leadership qualities with an unbeaten half century as he looked to get his side back into the 2nd test against Australia.

Dravid struck a cautious 50 from 106 balls to take his team to 4/98 as they look to chase down Australias 403 first innings total. Dravid will now have to use all of his class to bat with a relatively inexperienced lower order to firstly get his side past the 203 run mark to avoid the follow on.

MacGill With The Crucial Breakthrough - India 5/104

Stuart MacGill chimed in with his first wicket of the match, and arguably the most important of the innings as he and Adam Gilchrist combined to stump Rahul Dravid for 56 to leave India struggling at 5/104 late on day 2 of the 2nd test at Adelaide.

Gilchrist showed the reflex's that have made him one of the best wicketkeeper batsmen of all time removing the dangerous captain when he appeared to be consolidating his innings on 56.

Singh And Dhoni Battle To Stumps - India 5/123

Indian middle order newcomers Yuvraj Singh and test debuton Mahendra Dhoni struggled through to remain unbeaten at stumps on day 2 with their side in a difficult position of 5/123.

Rahil Dravid was the only Indian batsman to take it to the Australian bowlers, carving out 56 runs to keep his side in with a chance, as small as it may be.

Shane Warne proved that he is in a class of his own, producing one of his most impressive performances to restrict the tourists. Warne ended the day with figures of 2/11 from 21 overs.

Lee Makes Early Breakthrough - India 6/126

Brett Lee made the early breakthrough for Australia by dismissing Yuvraj Singh for a hard fought 14 early on day 3 of the 2nd test match. Lee had Singh caught at bat pad by Michael Clarke as Singh struggled to manage the pace of the worlds fastest bowler. Clarke took a solid catch at bat pad to leave Mahendra Dhoni to bat with the tail as India look to get close to the 203 required to avoid the follow on.

Warne Picks Up Rival - India 7/137

India slipped further into trouble when they lost Anil Kumble for only 8 to the hands of rival leg spinner Shane Warne as India fell to 7/137. Warne again combined well with Andrew Symonds, fielding at short cover, to take the scalp of the tailender. Symonds showing his skills with a diving catch.

Warne Weaves Magic - India 8/139

Shane Warne returned to his brilliant best with a stunning display to put India squarely behind the 8 ball on day 3 of the 2nd test at Adelaide. Warne claimed Harbhajan Singh as his 4th wicket of the innings to leave India struggling at 8/139, still 64 runs behind the follow on mark and with only 2 wickets in hand.

Captain Ricky Ponting produced the catch of the match with a brilliant reflex snatch at silly mid off to dismiss the right handed off spinner.
