don't forget you can use gaMCHanger now for variable weather conditions!

There's sunny and overcast options, so you could do what I do and roll a dice at start of each day - eg roll 1-3 = sunny, 4-6 = overcast etc

just a thought

i will do that zimrahil. thanks for posting aswell. great idea. ill download it this afternoon australian time and then post match updates then

I think Macgill is a really good choice for the second test and after a haertbreaking loss for Ausseis in first test match they really need to deliver in second test match and i hope this will be an exciting finish.

Openers Get Australia Off To Solid Start

Australian openers Matthew Hayden and Justin Langer have put Australia in a solid position after just over 1 and a half hours of play Langer and Hayden were able to compile their first 50 partnership of the year. Hayden 25* and Langer 20* have shown the form that is needed at the top of a very strong batting lineup.

Coming of a century in the first test at Jo'burg, Justin Langer continues to impress with the bat while his partner Hayden, who struggled with scores of 0 and 2 in the first test, shows signs that his form is on the rise.

The spinners Nicky Boje and Robin Peterson were introduced into the attack after just the 9th and 14th overs respectively however the Australian openers appear comfortable against their left armed opponents, able to sweep and flick balls onto the leg side - which could provide problems should these two batsmen get set.

Australia need to bounce back and win here to gain some momentum going into the one dayers!

Peterson Deceives Langer - Australia 1/95

Robin Peterson took his first steps to justify his test selection when he took the wicket of Justin Langer with the opener on 41 and Australia looking in a good position at 0/95 in the second session of play on day 1 of the second test match.

Peterson, coming around the wicket, used extra flight to entice Langer out of his crease, the ball then dipped and gripped slightly to bounce safely into the hands of wicketkeeper Mark Boucher who took the bails off with Langer still short of his ground my several inches.

Australia do however have a solid platform to build on with Matthew Hayden and Ricky Ponting at the crease with the score at 1/95.

(Justin Langer returns to the pavilion after a well made 41)

Lunch Score
Australia 0/64
J. Langer - 30*
M. Hayden - 29*

S. Pollock 0/23 (11.0)
N. Boje 0/20 (9.0)

they need to pick 2 more quick wickets to put the ausies under pressure and aussies need to score a 100 partnership

HAYDEN FINDS FORM - AUSTRALIA 1/135

Matthew Hayden appeared to have recaptured his lost form with a gritty half century as Australia cautiously edged their way towards tea on the first days play at Cape Town.

Hayden appeared to play at two tempos throughout the first two sessions of play. Interchaging between brutalising the ball through both the off and on side and then withdrawing into his shell after the loss of Justin Langer to ensure Australia didnt lose another wicket.

Hayden, 60 not out, and Ricky Ponting, 15 not out, have taken quite alot of time after lunch to ensure that the innings continued on course on what is a slow wicket but appearing to be a very good pitch for batting.

It will be vital that Hayden and Ponting can put together a good partnership because the middle order did struggle in the first innings. There averages so far in the series are shown below.
