Australian Tour of India, October 2010/11

Ponting, Watson, Johnson rested from the ODIs. Would like to think this means Ponting will turn out for Tassie at the MCG on Oct 25.

Michael Clarke (capt), Cameron White, Doug Bollinger, Callum Ferguson, Nathan Hauritz, James Hopes, Mike Hussey, Shaun Marsh, Clint McKay, Tim Paine (wk), James Pattinson, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, David Warner

Suddenly the ODI squad of Australia doesn't look impressive anymore. And Bollinger should be rested, not Johnson.

I am favouring India to win the ODI series.

Why isn't Tait back for Australia?

Names are names. Sometimes big names only serve to disappoint. Sometimes a player sneaks through 25-50 games before he earns a name to match his performances.

Tait and Harris are injured. One thing I would say about this squad is that maybe they've put a bit of extra pressure on the bowling. For example, someone such as Dirk Nannes could have provided a very Johnson-like replacement and is a real option for the World Cup.

Last time second string Aussie side won in India. Tait is out for two months and yes Bollinger deserved rest more than MJ but MJ is senior player now and it has its perks with that.

But one thing different about this side and the one that beat India last time is bowling.

That Squad does not look impressive. Would have love to see in Usman Khwaja. But may be not in contentions for World Cup.

disappointed not to see Ponting and watto in ODI squad, they would have given much competition.

Rather than that, I am disappointed to see Warner in their squad. He is a T20 batsman only and there are batsmen better than him.

I will be tough for VVS to recover for next game and next time even if he plays he will not be allowed runner.

We could have situation where Yuvi and Raina are our middle order batsman. :laugh

I'm surprised Australia opted to rest key players. This is the venue of the world cup, prime practice for the big event.

Don't understand ths stuff.

Ashes are bigger than anything and they just need to show up to win World Cups.

I don't understand why you say that. I'm really looking forward to see him. He can be a good One day player too if given chances.
