Australian Tour of India, October 2010/11

Oh my the god.

Just came home and checked the score an was expecting a 100 run loss. Instead I see this. Only Laxman could have won this match for us, credit to Ishant though. He really turned his performance round in the second half of the game.

Bangalore next, should see yet another tight contest as they through up some half decent pitches.

So Gambhir and Ishant Out of 2nd test due to injury and replacing them is Jaidev Unadkat and Abhinav Mukund.

Pujara and Vijay still in bench.. I dont think that was required :(

I will be tough for VVS to recover for next game and next time even if he plays he will not be allowed runner.

We could have situation where Yuvi and Raina are our middle order batsman. :laugh

He is not even in the squad. His time is over. Just as KP's time is over :p

No more Failraj singh in any team squad

Not sure if he'll play but he isn't ruled out. I think it we will wait until the very last minute to drop Laxman in tests, especially against the Aussies!

Wow, nice to see Mukund in there. Eagerly waiting to see him in the international arena. If Laxman doesn't play, I hope Pujara gets a chance.

58.2
Johnson to Ojha, 4 runs, 90.5 mph, Lbw Shout And oh boy what we get .. Four Over throws! That looked out. Billy reckons there was an inside edge. Was there some wood on leather? I am not sure there was anything at all. Oh well ... What an insane little game this is! It was a length delivery tailing in on the leg and middle stump, It looked as if it would have hit the leg and middle! Not given out by Billy. The ball rolled to point. Perhaps it was the pressure and the tension of the lbw appeal, Ojha gets outside the crease .. Raina asks him to get back .. he turns, Steve Smith fires the throw and the ball misses the stumps and runs through the vacant covers. No Aussie fielder could back that up. But that throw was on. Had he hit - and he didn't miss by much - Ojha would have been run out. ..... And It has been given as an insideedge I can't confirm or deny that edge. Need a snicko. If you ask me on the basis of evidence given to us so far (a couple of replays, no snicko) there didn't seem to be any edge.

I feel for OZ team. They lost, but it was well fought. But how does it feel to be n the other side of the stick finally.

Good game of test cricket. When was the last time Test in India had a "low scoring" (Low scoring, considering no one scored a double, or no team crossed 600 see it's not so bad is it? BCCI?) test plus a RESULT!

And also, I guess it was already covered by now, but I just wanna say it. Sachin strikes again.

Well done to VVS. 91, with 2 in hands. No Sachin could do that.

Read the part when score was 205/9 to get full picture.

Oh, but you would take that over the last one wouldn't you? I would

I mean if you are an Indian fan.

India did not deserve to loose and that's what happened. These two teams have been giving fans some heart stopping moments in last 3 years.

Abhinav Mukund? What is Rahane doing then? Rahane deserves it more than Mukund. Not sure if Unadkat is the right option but anyway he is going to be carrying drinks as Sreesanth will be the second seamer to play next game.

If Laxman aint fit, Pujara should get his chance in the middle order next game. He will do well and he will get that much required experience of international conditions against one of the top quality opposition.

Team are yet to decide. They are replaced to fill up 15 man squad. Hope Pujara get his chance but I believe they will go with Vijay.

Vijay will play in place of Gambhir. He is certain to play now. Pujara has to wait and see Laxman's status.

Nah, Mukund has impressed more than Rahane outside India which makes him a better prospect in the eyes of the selectors. They're as good as each other at this stage but the ability to perform outside the subcontinent makes Mukund's case for selection stronger.

Ponting, Watson, Johnson rested from the ODIs. Would like to think this means Ponting will turn out for Tassie at the MCG on Oct 25.

Michael Clarke (capt), Cameron White, Doug Bollinger, Callum Ferguson, Nathan Hauritz, James Hopes, Mike Hussey, Shaun Marsh, Clint McKay, Tim Paine (wk), James Pattinson, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, David Warner

Nice to see the youngsters in the side, hopefully they get a go and Warner as well. If Bollinger is out then Starc or Pattinson will definitely be making their debut unless we decide to push Hopes into a bowling role which would be silly considering we picked those two youngsters.
