Australian Tour of India, October 2010/11

Thanks, but I think you deserve that for getting your eyesight and hearing back. Plus you've actually realized that the match would be impacted in two entirely different ways if Pujara was out instead of Vijay, or vice versa. That's quite an achievement.

Thanks. Next time we meet, I owe you a Coke.

Two of India's future test batsmen are now thrown into the middle to shape their careers. Great chance! Hope both take it with both hands. Most likely, Vijay and Pujara could be India's future test heavyweights. Here they have to manuver a tough chase.

Whats Pujara's style? Aggresive or defensive? Intresting to see hes ahead of Dravid...

He is more like Dravid. The run accumalator type. He has a triple century to his credit in first class cricket. He is a run machine in domestic cricket and can bat long long hours. But people say he has improved his game for limited overs too (plays more shots these days, it seems)

Doesn't matter what style he has, guy can score big.. By big i mean 300+ big :p He's scored 3 triple tons last season and two of them came within a week...

On the other had, I guess strategy of sending pujara head of dravid is that India want to score as many runs as possible before ball gets old and start reversing. Had they lost dravid or tendulkar early on, then you really can't expect young players counter reverse swing. Thus Pujara-Vijay would attack new ball and if any of them gets out then Maybe Raina or even dhoni might come up..

I don't really know his nature of play but all I know is he is the one for the future.

So far, Pujara has looked extremely good. VERY GOOD! The straight four he hit off Hauritz was class. Really liking the look of this boy.

Another super shot!! PUJARA, I am becoming a fan of you already yaar!

Oh boy.. India is really in a hurry.. :p

Pujara is looking so sweet out there. Some great shots already. Even if he's a bit defensive(which isn't the case in this innings) India should persist with him in future as we cant have a team full of strokemakers only in test matches(Sehwag,Gambhir,Raina,Yuvi,Dhoni).. We need someone like him to bring the calm

I will already say he should be in the team for the tests vs New Zealand coming up this year. I am liking Vijay more here too. Both are batting very well together.

Pujara has been banging on the selectors doors literally with big-ass hammers for last few years :p Good to see him getting a chance and performing too ...
Gotta love this stat from cricinfo :
" In October that year he was picked for the Challenger Trophy and later scored two triple-hundreds for Saurashtra in an Under-22 tournament. He followed that up with another triple-century against Orissa in the 2008-09 Ranji Trophy."

The Legend Of Pujara :p

Nathan Hauritz, India's favorite bowler.

Pujara looking sparkling. I'm enjoying the approach because it shows some thought being put into the batting - score as many as you can before the ball gets old and starts reversing (as pointed out on cricinfo). Often times, India's batting has looked without a plan, but not today. Good going.
