Australian Tour of India, October 2010/11

If we check their stats in the era where some of the greatest bowlers were playing that is akram-donald-waqar-ambrose's 90's :p

Sachin avg 59 while dravid avg 49

Okay, Dravid only played 96, 97, 98 and 99 whereas Sachin had much more time to adjust to the rigors of playing high quality fast bowling attacks. Dravid was just starting his career in the nineties whereas Sachin was starting to move into the middle period of his career. That doesn't strengthen your argument at all.

Sachin had more time, why ?? There must be a reason why he was in Indian team so early:p.

Just another strange fact, Sachin has batted 35678 minutes to get 13945 runs while dravid batted 37345 minutes to get 11580 runs...

He's a special talent. You don't understand what I'm saying anyways so this is sort of pointless. I'm in no way degrading Sachin's accomplishments because I am fully aware of what a great batsman he is. I am saying that Rahul Dravid, in test matches, is a batsman of equal stature. Just because I am arguing for Rahul Dravid doesn't mean I am arguing against Sachin Tendulkar. When someone says, "oh, Sachin has to save us again... just like the old days" it annoys me because what old days are these? Dravid has saved India's ass on plenty of occasions. He is not called The Wall for no reason.

I know this debate can go on and on... I leave now. Lets hope Sachin plays another special innings tomorrow.

@Shravi, Don't you have school/college tomorrow , its almost 4 am in the morning dude... I'll definitely pass out in EMD lecture tomorrow, i mean today now :p

Okay.. So we can both agree on the fact that " Dravid is a better Ass-Saver while Sachin is a better Match-Winner " :p

Convert it into hindi and have a laugh :D

Good night.. See ya tomorrow after the match.

P.S: I guess i would bunk tomorrow to see Sachin's batting. Last time i bunked college, Sachin score 200 against saffers :p

And we have played pretty well with a batsman down, 1 useless spinner, Harbhajan who was sporadically fit/unfit, and Ishant sharma who was crap for 99% of the match.

Can pretty much say the same for Aus. Essentially playing with 9 men as North and Hussey are always being carried.

i havent watched much of the game but was wondering who the australian commentator is

ITs Brad Hogg. They once shown him commentating with Laxman Shivaramakrishnana

Australian team's helmets?

Did anyone notice the helmets some of the Australian team had on during the first test? Watto in particular I noticed.

I think they were cloth-covered but still looked pretty shiny?

I struggle to see why people still expect Sehwag to perform in the 4th. Sehwag is a first innings monster and he can put India in control of games. Any time he actually performs in an Indian second innings is against the norm, and the opposition should consider themselves unlucky. This chase was always going to be about Dravid/Tendulkar after whatever quick runs Sehwag managed before getting dismissed. It's unfortunate but we've lost most of our top order so it'll need a stellar innings from Tendulkar and someone else to pull this one out the bag.

Why does Viru get excused from the 4th innings? Everyone else has to turn up and perform, but not Sehwag? Does Kirsten really tell him 'Just do what you can and the others will bail us out'? It's a poor argument and a poor strategy (if it really is his strategy).
