Story Australia's Commonwealth Bank Series - vs @ Perth: Ind: 119/5

Aussies can still end up in great heights :p Untill the last bowler(batsman) gets out, England can't be with free minds. ;) That too in Adelaide, bowlers can never be careless for a second too.

Australia have still got a bit of batting left to come. England should not get over confident.

Great works Roo.

With Ashley Giles now being smashed around by the Batsmen, Michael Vaughan decided to bring back Matthew Hoggard into the attack. Hoggard has already taken 2 of the 4 wickets taken, and he will be looking to trouble the batsmen again with his pace, like he did just this morning.

Up the other end, Stephen Harmison was still bowling. It's been a long spell from the quick bowler from England and he might be getting out of the attack very soon. But Harmison wouldn't give up. He hasn't produced any wickets so far, and he was trying his hardest to bring up something with the amount of overs he has bowled with no result. Andrew Symonds was the man at the crease, and Harmison was un-lucky not to pick the wicket. Symonds was charging down the crease at Harmison, and he miss timed the shot. The ball went under the bat and nearly clipped the top of the bails. Lukcily enough for Symonds, the ball was a little too high, and Harmison was disgusted in himself. Andrew Flintoff was happy that Harmison was making some progress in getting a wicket.

Harmison, so close. Vice Captain applauds the try.

Andrew Symonds was lucky he survied out in the middle thanks to the Harmison ball. But his partnership up the other end wasn't so lucky. Michael Clarke, the blonde bombshell was caught by a brilliant ball from Matthew Hoggard. It was pitched short, and Clarke decided to bring it off the back foot. Although Clarke was looking for the block, the ball had some extra bounce in it. This pitch has held up, and the bounce is incredible, kinda like the Perth Pitch now a-days.
And with the extra bounce that the pitch gave Hoggard and his short ball he delivered, suprised Michael Clarke, and it found the top edge of the bat. Ashley Giles was standing at Gully/3rd slip rejin, and he had to bend down to take the catch. The ball nearly dropped as soon as it was in the air, but Giles was standing close enough, to take the catch, so Michael Clarke departs for 11.

Michael Clarke goes for 11, after a top edge to gully.

So Australia are now 5 down. A position Australia haven't been in for a while, they are starting to come into the lower order of the batting line-up, but with Gilly and Warne and Lee, theres some batting still to come from the Australians. Michael Clarke goes for 11, and with Hoggard on fire taking 3 wickets, this Innings is in favour for the Poms.

Michael Clarke departs after starting so well.

So Australia still have some hard hitting left to come. Adam Gilchrist is the new man to the crease, and with Andrew Symonds out in the middle, god knows what these 2 will produce for us. If Gilly decides to put on a show and get some quick runs, then it'll be a delight to watch, either that or they will steady their Innings, that will be a delight to watch aswell, but it will take some time, it'll be interesting to see what kind of plan Gilly comes out with today.

Adam Gilchrist comes to the crease, to spark the Australian's

Gilchrist may have been coming to the crease with a game plan. And everyone knows what game plan Andrew Symonds had. To Smash the ball at every oppourtunity he had. He was timing the ball superbly out of the middle of the bat. He has only been at the crease for s hort time, but he was timing the ball superbly. He was dominating the England bowlers, and Matthew Hoggard was getting frustrated with the treatment he was recieving. Symonds was just hitting the ball out of the middle of the bat, and it was sailing along the outfield and ran away from the fielder, it was a brilliant cover drive, and it shows that Symo is here to play.

Symonds is attacking the England quicks.

Andrew Symond was taking it to the England bowlers now. Just a ball after the boundary he hit, Hoggard pitched a ball that was right in Symonds's comfort zone. And as usual, a badly pitched ball from any bowler, and you know what Andrew Symonds does to you, he smashes you around the park. But this time the ball didn't stay along the ground like the previous delivery did. No no, he smashed this one into the air, and it was a mammoth hit. Symonds hit a massive 6 of Hoggard who was starting to get frustrated really badly now. It isn't turning out to be as easy as he thought, and now will need to come back and prove himself to his Captain.

And this time over the rope for 6.

And with Stephen Harmison bowling alot of overs, Michael Vaughan decided to give the man a break and introduce Liam Plunkett to the attack. So a few bowling changes here from Vaughan, might cause some problems for the Australian batsmen.

Jimmy Plunkett comes in to stop the flow.

But the bowling changes didn't affect the way these 2 batsmen were playing. Andrew Symonds was finished his over of glory, now Gilchrist was taking charge. A massive launch from the Veteran which got the crowd out of their seats. Adam Gilchrist is back to his brilliant best with a shot like that. Reminds me of the days he started when he was in the International Cricket team. Smashing 6's and 4's around all over the place. It looked a new refreshed Gilchirst out in the middle today.

But Gilly joins in the fun.

68283471cr7.jpg

But it wasn't long before the English worked Gilchrist out. Even though his wicket wasn;t their play. Gilchrist was like Clarke's wicket. He was suprised of how much bounce was in this pitch, and he was forced onto the back foot. There was a man, Marcus Trescothick who was setup at back pad for Gilchrist, and with the extra bounce of the ball, and getting Gilchrist up on the back foot, made the ball bounce of the bat, and enough for the man at Backpad, to catch the ball. So Gilchrist is gone.

but it wasn't so much fun when he was caught at BackPad

So Gilchrist goes for 12, and every Australia except Matthew Hayden have made some solid starts, but couldn't produce anything out of them. Australia are 6 down now for 137.

Gilly Starts, but couldnt finish

And with the wicket of Adam Gilchrist, Shane Warne comes to the crease. Andrew Symonds is still unbeaten on 17, and Warnie comes to the crease to help of Symonds if needed. Brett Lee is due in next for Australia, and then England will hit the tail end after that.

Warnie warms up, and comes to the crease.

Atleast this is the only place where England can beat Australia :)

Not looking good atm but our tail end should be able to scratch out 50 or so runs. Great work here mate, this is nicely presented.

thanks for the wonderful comments guys. I will try and get an update done by tonight, i will do it after work.

Very true.. But still, the game is not yet over. Lets see what happens. Never know when Aussies can bounce back from nowhere :p

We need a maiden ton from Warne now. C'mon Symmo! At this point Symonds hadn't scored a test century either so if these can both score that would put us well back into the game.

True, and it's only the 1st Innings, who knows, Australia could bowl England out for lower then what Australia have made. And the 2nd Innings could be a totally different story.
