Awaiting comment from Trickstar...

As he made clear when he visited before he's had nothing to do with the game since May.
@BD - the fielding system is definite different to the one I saw at Lord's and now we know why. As to why it was changed I imagine it was to "improve" it.

Just bizarre... As you say why not roll it back when it was obviously broken?

Of course both Chief and Fagin will be on here all the time, maybe even on here as we speak, but Chief wouldn't have bothered logging in after the 22nd simply to make it look like he'd 'legitimately' disappeared and to save himself from people calling him out saying, "we know you're online!".

See i understand the whole NDA's scenario, what i do not understand is, was this game ever made with the passion?

I had a argument with Jamie i think in april, based on getting the cricket basics right and implementing the rules correctly and why 2013 game would not have a BASIC sport games feature CAREER MODE!.......... At that time what he answered just put me off AC13.

It all seemed money grabber from day one, minimal costs to make the game and generate larger revenue.

Fegan trying to justify automatic fielding and promoting the 'captain mode' was enough to turn me off. Couldn't have been more out of touch

I think there's a bit of produce something to make money but I don't personally doubt that most the people working on this are/were passionate cricket fans who wanted to build something amazing.
Time, budget and technical constraints have obviously not made that possible Maybe I'm being too kind but I never got a sense of "just in it for the money" from the dev diaries that Chief made with Steve MJ.

That's a really strange one because it apparently came about as a result of feedback from IC10. People didn't like the catching system so they did away with it.
Personally I thought the catching system was one of the best things about IC10 and just needed some tweaks to improve it (such as dollies and blinding one handers not being the same difficulty!).

But how does that gel woth getting basic rules (bowled off no ball) wrong?

I think that's clearly buggy code rather than lack of knowledge. The game "forgets" that it's a no ball. Like how most the fielding problems happen after the ball hits the stumps.

Wow! Planet cricket must be doing good today! all i am getting is Server Busy! :thumbs

Yeah, I just checked our analytics and we've now overtaken 6 August when presumably Ross released something :D

Edit: that's when he unveiled the Bradman title.

While talking on the basic rules! Every freakin ball in AC13 is a no ball :facepalm, it wide of popping crease.

Surely Unity can't be that bad that they can't even get the basic of cricket correctly. It is just poorly programmed game and there is too much randomization, more than what they hoped for.

to get the game working on randomization was their biggest failure and they were unable to achieve that from day 1.

In terms of money i seriously don't know what they did.

Absolutely nothing wrong with Unity. It is a top class engine and, if anything, easier to use than most others. The fact that they made this tripe purely boils down to their incompetence.

I want people to stop using this. It may not be intended as such but it comes across as anti-semetic.

PC being too, er, PC?! It's just a play on his name, but I understand where you're coming from. It shall cease. Just like AC13.

But actually all it does to me is confirm he knew what an utter crock this was from the get go

Agreed. It's not like everything was going swimmingly then as soon as Chief left it all went to pot.

If it had all been going swimmingly we'd probably have had a June release as planned.
Suspect some of these questions will remain as unknown unknowables.

It's true. I'm still checking in. I just didn't want to invite a bunch of questions that, as I've said before, I'm not in a place to answer.

What I can say is that there have been a lot of very good people involved and, as the announcement alluded, this is a very regrettable situation which no-one wanted and I'm sure everyone did their best to avoid.

Everyone will be disappointed with this outcome.

Ok Chief so you won't answer questions then so be it, we can't force you.

All I want to say is that when you were involved in the game a lot of the stuff in which you spoke about on here ended up not actually being in the game.

For example (There are many others) the 'Stump cam' which you said on here was in the game, it isn't. It's just a black dot on the stump.

Did you get hold of a copy of the game via the steam release?
