Bangladesh Tour of the West Indies 2009

End of day one! Bangladesh bowled well. batted well until Imrul got out. it would have been better if they were zero down. but never the less its not a bad da!

win is a win...and last time i checked all the other test teams took more then 50-60 tests to win their 1st test. plus we would have won a lot more then just 2, but letting the big guys win to save them from embressment doesnt help either.

and the new FTP doesnt help us either. it used to be 39 Tests and 68 ODIs in 6 years (06-12). we started to improve, but they dont like it. so now its 36 Tests and 51 ODI in 8 years (12-20).

and dont give me that crap we didnt improve. we improved a hell of a lot. starting from 04-05 till now, we started to do a lot better then we used to. but letting us play less doesnt help that cause. its almost as if they dont want us to improve.

and we improved by ourself. ICC didnt do ████ to help us out. and the big guns not agreeing to play (just incase what if they lose) doesnt help either... and there will be a thread every week related to; 'should bangladesh lose test status

You talk so much ████ that it isn't even funny anymore, infact it's pretty embarassing. Not every single test nation took 50-60 games to win there first test match, what an idiotic statment. Your "Everyone is against Bangladesh" crusade is digusting, and from what I can gather from reading some of your posts you blame everything on other countires for Bangladesh not being able to compete. Maybe they should improve the quality of the domestic teams in Bangaladesh, because players can't come into Test cricket and learn there trade it just doesn't work, look at Stuart Broad for example.

It would have been pretty embarrassing if Bangladesh didn't win the first Test. If they couldn't win against the second team of West Indies, ICC might have doubted their Test status. But that didn't happen.

Anyway it seems it's going to be a low scoring match again. The spinners of Bangladesh are really doing well.

At least by winning the first test they have proved they are better than West Indies A. If they win the series then finally they will have shown some improvement.

Howsie is right though, you cannot give Test debuts to 17 year olds and expect them to get better. That is why Oz is so good, they groom their players into late 20s before exposing them to the Test level. As a wise man once said "Test cricket is not a light-hearted business" its no place to develop a player, you must be developed to play it.

Well player on Day 1 to Bangladesh. Lets see if they can keep this momentum going.

WE should get rid of this good for nothing ICC, i dont know how can they just let this so call test matches go on and on, its not funny anymore

diaskasun added 6 Minutes and 59 Seconds later...

to who ever think so much about gr8 Bangladesh cricket, who have won 2 matches beating (Zim's and WI (vellage test team)) out of 64 TEST's . whn sri lanka played 64 test they won 18 out of that + a worldcup and they won agenst full teams then club teams. hmmmm so yap bangladesh is doing gr8 :D:D

In any competitive sport or discipline, players don't develop unless challenged. Ideally you get this sort of competition at domestic level, but many countries don't have a domestic system that pushes players that hard all the time. I think this is as true for Bangladesh as it is for the West Indies. Whether the player is 17 or 27, the leap to Tests or ODI cricket is staggering. In these sorts of systems, the only way to get Test quality players is to make them play Test cricket.

^ in ODI cricket mainly, this team has some 20 odd test caps between them, Bangladesh has more than 100. This series is a farce and I can see many cricket historians excluding it from their Test Cricket statistics.

well the windies arent doing badly in this test atleast, which tells us about the quality of bangladesh, they just dont deserve to be a test team.

At end of second day,3rd inngs have already started,WI would certainly like to accelerate from here ,they are leading by 61 runs and still have 9 more wickets in hand, they would like to level this series by winning here, both teams WI 1st inngs 237,BD 1st inngs 232 not much difference here,so if BD can repeat their performance who knows, they might win the second test too, draw is a bit difficult as 3 more days are remaining,it might get close, lets see...

i reckon a lead of 200 would be enough for the windies, dont see banglesh scoring much in the 4th innings.

its a low scoring match to begin with, 250-300 is deffo win for Windies C. I hope the ICC remove Test Status from this series in the near future.

Six wickets for Kemar Roach. Hopefully after this performance he gets more of a run when the full strength team comes back. It seems like he is over his no ball problem. He is a far better bowler then Baker.
