Best Ever ODI Bowler

194 Saeed Anwar is all I can remember. :noway

I think it is easy to hit a genuine fast bowler Because only you to open the face of the bat and you will see the bowl rockingt in the crowd

Pretty much although I always thought Bond was hard to get away for a quick. He could swing it both ways, McGrath like accuracy, generates good pace and has a deadly yorker.

Mendis. :p

36 matches
280.3 overs
16 maidens
1162 runs
71 wickets
Average 16.37
Best Bowling 6/13
Strike rate 23.70

Pure pwnage.

Mendis is going more downhill than uphill though. While it can be argued that it's impossible to sustain the average he had, I think that Mendis' mystery has been solved and without it, he will become increasingly easier to handle.

I stopped reading there. Besides his career should be much more mediocre from here thanks partially to Pakistan.

I'll put a few serious names out there for people.

Garner
Pascoe
Roberts
Bond
Lillee
Holding
Hadlee
Donald
Mushtaq
McGrath -

- Etc.

while I agree that Bond is a really goo ODI bowler his career hasn't spanned a long enough time to be able to stand up with the greats.
Guys like Wasim, Waqar, McGrath, Murali did it for 250-300+ ODIs and still have great records.

by the way don't ignore Pollock, Lee and in my opinion the best ODI spinner of all time Saqlain Mushtaq.

Brett Lee is by far the best ODI bowler ever.

His fast pace troubles any batsmen, including the likes of Sachin (he got him out most times). And in the death overs, his slow balls and inswinging yorkers make him the best ever death bowler as well.

Others like Wasim, McGrath, Bond were great but if you wanted a bowler to bowl a great over NOW, you would definetly give the ball to Lee.

He has an incredible economy rate, averages 3 in the last year, yet people think he makes the ball come easier on the bat, rubbish.

Matches: 186
Wickets: 324
Average: 23.01
Economy: 4.71
Strike Rate: 29.2
5 wicket hauls: 9

If you gave me the option of having a guy for one over I would take Wasim, Waqar, McGrath, Pollock ahead of Lee. Except for Waqar the mentioned guys have a lesser economy and nobody bowler better reverse swing then Waqar.

Wasim Akram for me, i only remember the later part of his career, but hes the one i would least like to face as a batsmen.
