OTHER Big Ant Studios Lacrosse - PlayStation3, Xbox360, PC

NZ's are comparatively sane - for anything classified with the unrestricted age classifications from the UK or Australia, they just give it the NZ equivalent for a tiny processing fee, as well as pricing the full classification services with the fact that it's a smaller market with harder to recover costs in mind.

Having to pay hundreds of dollars to be legally able to sell an obviously G rated sports game on PSN/XBLA is insane and costs us a lot of games that there's no other reason not to offer.

Unless of course you're Apple and implement your own classification system outside of the law and have it ignored.

A message from Carlo, the Kickstarter didn't make it but he gave it a very good shot:

Lacrosse Video Game for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC by Crosse Studios ? Thank You ? Kickstarter

L14 Backers,

Thank you so much for the support over the past 32 days. I'm truly honored to be part of such a passionate community.

At the end of the day, this game is going to happen. We will find the investments needed to release a Lacrosse Video Game for PlayStation, Xbox, and the PC.

The Lacrosse 14 Kickstarter has exposed thousands of new people to lacrosse and has opened a ton of new doors... There are so many positives to take from this experience...

Thank you again and please email me at [email protected]

Talk to you soon,

Carlo

PS: Make sure to connect with our social media to help push the game forward!

Find out what who the people were who came in 2/3rds of the way through with that incredibly unusual spike. Who were they and how did they find out about it?

Then run it again with the same target and a reduced timeframe, and ask them to bring friends.

50% on a first run on something like this is an incredible achievement: If it was made absolutely clear that the game ONLY happens if people pledge, it will be a walk in the park based on the interest so far.

A setback, but no hurdle you can't jump. Good luck with it all. From the sound of Carlo's passion I'd say this game will be happening sooner rather than later.

Mad at myself that I didn't check into PC and discover this sooner, My $100 wouldn't have made a difference in the end but that's not the point. The news that it will be getting made in some shape or form is really encouraging.

I did stumble across these quotes that piqued my interest and grabbed my attention with two hands.

It's not big here but I think it is big enough to warrant a game.

It's Carlo's enthusiasm and knowledge of the sport that has convinced me that we can make it.

As discussed previously, I've got a history of working with US sports, especially the NFL.

You may want to try your hand at a football video game. There's no competition to Madden series and there are plenty of football fans who are disenchanted with the Madden series. For such a profitable and big selling series I'm surprised there's no viable competition to Madden at all. Maybe "Football Live" series by Big Ant could shake up things a bit.
If Big Ant decide to go down this path (And this is purely hypothetical mind you) it could be a really interesting opportunity to get a partnership going with Gridiron Australia to license the approx. 50 teams across every state and territory not named NT or Tasmania.

But this is all just in my head, Something i'd love to see happen as a player (I'm not above bribing for a ratings boost :P) and as a fan of the game, I'd also like to see Lacrosse 14 make it into the world as well though.

If we were to do a football game, it would likely be of the WWE meets FIFA variety, "Red Card Football", in the backbreaker mould.

It would have to be very arcadey to set itself apart from the other games in the market that have huge budgets.

We have thought about it, TableTop Cricket is first as it's pretty much done, followed by TableTop Baseball.

As above, I'd prefer a Red Card Football style game, I've wanted to make something like it since I was a kid.

I for one wouldn't mind getting a new football game. Madden, once you get used to it, looks and feel the same. Would be fun to get my hands on another football game :thumbs

I was hoping you will get into an actual football simulation game and not the arcadey "Backbreaker" sort of stuff. I was thinking maybe you would tie up with a major publisher and come up with a PES equivalent to Madden. Football gaming market is huge with more than a million copies sold on the lauch day so there's a big enough market for competition. I really wish that a developer/publisher like 2K Sports ties up with you based on your track record of sports titles and we either see a resurrection of NFL 2K football or a new "Football Live" series as long as this doesn't adversely affect the Big Ant cricket franchise (DBC).

I know the Aussies don't gave a great boxing pedigree but what about a boxing game?? ( Jeff Fenech, Anthony Mundine, Russian born Kostya Tyzu and a few good bare knuckle guys in the early 1900s incl an aboriginal who was very good) but as EA have no plans to do a sequel to fight night champion, even if it was a bit more Arcady like the Ring King game of the 80s it would be great to have a new game!

Is everyone here crazy? There is an untapped football market and no one has even suggested it..

Legends Football League - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ross, do it.. you know you want to!

You think we haven't thought about it, I mean seriously thought about it... if the beach volley ball game can be successful then I think this deserves a shot* :)

*every woman in my life would disown me of course.

There's always a boxing game every few years from someone, it's a bit too risky for us to enter that market.
