OTHER Big Ant Studios Lacrosse - PlayStation3, Xbox360, PC

Just wondered, looking at the screenshot, the game is being played in a big stadium. Is Lacrosse that popular??? I know the Americans play it but other than that what would be you're target audience??? I'm completely clueless about the game?

I also came to know on this game for the first time. :) also when I searched in YouTube, looks like there were some video games on this too! Never heard/saw them though in stores.

"Box Lacrosse" was what I saw in Canada. I've never seen so much fighting, swearing and blood in a sport. Not a tooth to share amongst the players. Essentially guys using a sling to propel a cricket ball into each others faces, and then alternately, their groins.

Would go again. ;)

Why dont you make hockey! ,instead of this..never heard of this sport..Anyway screenie looks cool.

EA, 2k Sports already make hockey games.

I assume he meant field hockey.

Someone tried and failed literally a week ago doing a very similar thing for field hockey. Perhaps a worrying indicator of the chance of success here.

Oh I dunno. They have 233k Facebook followers and a pretty active community by the looks: Lacrosse is a pretty affluent sport as well, so people may be contributing higher prices than normal. The benefit of Kickstarter is that passionate fans can pledge as much as they like (well, within reason!) to support the game. And if even a quarter of those 233k pledge even $10 each then you've got a good budget to start with!

Make a WWE game , it will be a though challenge between you and THQ.

Yeah that number surprised me. Perhaps I'm just a bit cynical after having watched a bunch of recent huge failures to do things on kickstarter which had comparatively huge publicity.

Obviously though Big Ant are very different from most kickstarter companies though, they've got a proven product and history of delivering.

Big Ant make sports games.

What about Kabaddi then..Im sure that is a sport.

I once had to write a full design for a Lagori (or Pitthu) game. Knowing FULL well that there was no way it was ever going to be made.
Good design experience though: I didn't have to think about budget practicalities or anything. It was ace: I kinda feel sad we never got to play it.

For a second there it sounded like you were talking about ashes 2013.
In fact if you swap the word lagori for ashes 2013 then you could have put that post in the ashes 2013 thread to explain your vanishing act.

Wrong thread, but the explanation for my brief sabbatical of not being here has been given - I left the project over 4 months ago. Explanation done. *Again*.
