Big Ant Studios post first look at Cricket game

That is such a good idea! Putting a bowling marker down is a silly concept, and really has nothing to do with how you bowl a ball IRL. As a fast bowler myself I know that the height at which I release the ball is the critical determinant of where it will land. :clap

I understand how this may work for length, but what about line... thoughts Ross?

Glad you agree - it also gave me a way of getting rid of another piece of HUD - much better for not telegraphing what you're doing on local multiplayer too.

The line is controlled as you come in - I've got to keep some things for later or I'll have nothing left to talk about!

:lol That's fair enough Ross. I agree about the HUD. One of the things I disliked about IC2010 was how much stuff was covering the screen. It really took away from the authenticity of feeling like you were watching a match in real time.

Fingers crossed for a release date that's before the 1st test against South Africa! :yes

The screenshot posted has players of a very lower height. I mean they look like 5'2" or 5'3". Shouldnt they be atleast 5'7", normally players are of that height.

Secondly, can we have different heights like in Fifa or PES games for players like a smaller height for Tendulkar and a bigger one for Morne Morkel or Steven Finn?

Thirdly, can we change the collar styles of the kits?

----------

Fourthly, will this game feature subcontinent stadiums? And what about licensing?

----------

And any idea about the requirements of the game?

The player scaling hasn't been implemented yet, they will be different weights/heights/etc..

These kits are from different time periods. I think the guys might have been watching "Howzat" too much before it was taken :)

I can't talk specifically about licensing at this time.

And any idea about the requirements of the game?
It will be PC/X360/PS3 (smaller versions for iOS/Android will appear later)

Not this year guys, worth a dream but my guess is about 3 to 6 months.
Maybe more, who knows:D

How about the number of stadiums, also size like melbourne huge and
india small. So hitting 4s and 6s easier in india but in melbourne 1s 2s and 3s.

Lol! I can't wait to get my hands on this and create some classic teams of the past. Keep the collars in Ross! I want to make a retro '70s Australian team! On a serious note, will we be able to give our players gold chains? ;)

Something I'm reminded of from this - is this going to be yet another game where every match is in front of a packed stadium? Or will crowds reflect the importance of the match?

Was about to ask the same thing.

The game has set high expectations after that rugby trailer.

We will be implementing a similar system to RLL2 in that regard.

In Career mode, position on the ladder/group, finals, style of play etc.. will determine the crowd - it won't be always packed - this means $$ earned at the gate, sponsors and TV ratings so it does effect the management side of things. Play boring Cricket and no one will turn up and you will be in a spiral not being able to afford good players and traininng staff.

Found this on the RLL2 forums:

Q: Will the crowds be bigger and smaller depending on the way the team is performing?

A: Within career mode, stadium size will be dictated by the teams? progress within each season, so yes, grounds will be full or partially empty depending on how you are progressing.

I think the bigger thing than the visual impact of a half empty stadium, which is cool, is the loss of revenue that follows afterwards.
