Border-Gavaskar Trophy (India in Australia) Dec-Jan 2011/12

Captain Michael Clarke is said to be behind a push to reinstate the deposed opener, according to a report on Channel Nine last night, as Australia seek to address their batting woes after the humiliating defeat to New Zealand earlier this week.

Strange going ons if this happens. However wouldn't be totally against it if Ponting or Hussey were making way.

I hope Australia don't drop Ponting. He doesn't deserve to have his career ended that way.

A lot of people with their name in the opening mix.. Warner, Cowan, Watson, Marsh, Khawaja, Robinson, Katich, Hughes and Hussey as mentioned by Hayden and some fans. Hopefully they just settle on one combination and stick with it for the series :facepalm

Is it just everyone except the Indian selectors who can see that Vinay Kumar and Mithun are just absolutely rubbish ?! Irfan Pathan looked a lot better, heck....even RP Singh fresh from Miami is better than these two.

India have Ishant, Zaheer, Yadav, Ashwin and Ojha. Those 5 are pretty good, and they need to be playing all the matches. If any one else plays, India are totally screwed.

What the hell is the Aust. team doing to the players??

Literally EVERYONE in the australian team have been injured of late apart from the non-performers except Clarke.

Ah how silly of me, a 2 day game match isn't official so of course George was going to be left out when batting. Was hoping Lalor would get a the new ball although he's done alright with the old one too.

I was wondering what Rahane was doing in there after being 12th man.. didn't last long anyways.

Also, I'm gonna go ahead and say all this injury stuff is bs. With the Big Joke League due to start, all our test players are just faking injuries to avoid having to waste their time with the stars of beach cricket.

I guess Sachin is not batting today? In the Cricinfo scorecard, his name is listed at the very end (as the 12th man).

That other Aussie site is updating scores faster. India 68/1 and scoring at a very good clip. They started off pretty slowly though. Dravid looks real good again. He is as usual going to be India's fulcrum. If the others also contribute enough, India have a great chance of beating Australia in Australia for the first time in a series.
