Brazil 2014 Fifa World Cup Thread

Very very little , man. I do agree YT videos are not enough to judge a person but the reviews and reports I have heard state him as a very good player and considering that he already has made his debut for Brazil , he could have been tried.

P.S: And what more ? He is a beast in FM.

You could just add Botafogo to the list of teams you support and make even more shit up.

Mustafi in the Germany squad apparently.

A young player we let go on a free transfer as Moyes didn't rate him.

Is Gomez not the 'fox in the box' that he used to be anymore?

What do you mean "how":facepalm?

Loew's favouritism is too much. Khedira making it after such a long injury lay-off makes no sense.

Max Kruse is quality.

I'm also disappointed to see no Raffael or Roberto Firmino in the Brazil squad... They have had monster seasons, easily better than the likes of Oscar and Bernard by a country mile.

He's been injured, but by the same token Khedira shouldn't have made the team.

For the very few games that Gomez has played, his return has been decent.

Khedira and Bastian have been quality for Germany in the past , so that may have resulted in his inclusion. I agree with the Firmino and Raffael part , except , Bernard and Oscar have played a part in all the recent matches , so bringing in players with no experience of playing with the current team may not be as effective as having Oscar and Bernard. Bernard has done nothing after moving to Shakthar , so his inclusion in the qualifiers , friendlies et al is preposterous.

Yep, for me it's quite puzzling looking at their makeup at CF - Klose is the only out-and-out CF so you have to wonder why he didn't make it, especially since he offers something very different to Klose.

Perhaps the argument could be that the likes of Ozil or the other attacking midfielders as a false 9 can play a similar role to him, but it's anyone's guess why there are so many midfielders and so few players who play at CF for their clubs.

Certainly though, Roberto Firmino and Raffael missing out for Brazil is stranger. Bernard and Oscar have been nowhere near as good as these Germans that are keeping Kruse out, and you also have to consider than Firmino and Raffael had better seasons than Kruse too. Much bigger difference in quality between those at home and those on the plane in terms of Brazil.

I am suspecting Scolari is keeping Bernard, because he is the only natural left-footed mid-fielder option he has. But no doubt Coutinho for one has had a better season than him.

I have not noticed this Roberto Firmino fellow though admittedly.

Bernard's can use both feet but is predominantly right footed...

15 goals and 11 assists in 32 appearances for Firmino... Raffael is at 15 goals and 6 assists in 33 appearances. They're not all stats though, they have been some of the best players in the Bundesliga this season. They are so influential too, the main men for midtable sides.

Coutinho has been better than Oscar for sure, but not better than these two.

Gio definitely deserves it. Good to see him back on track after being ruined by Tottenham.
