Champions League Thread (the dawn of time - 2014)

Bunch of dirty cheatin spicks. How could they be let back into the CL? Say it was an English club who did the same thing; they'd have the bloody book thrown at them and be kicked out for life.

Well, you know what they say: One rule for us, another for everyone else.

Just to say well done to Drogheda, sooooo unlucky not to win last night against a European Superpower. A guilt-edge chance missed by Aaron Hughes and a ball that rolled along the goal line before being cleared

Group of death is definitely group H.

We have a tough group, Celtic is never easy, nor will Villareal be. Home form should be enough to get us through and Villareal aren't too likely to get as far as before, we should finish top. Rossi is coming home too.

Oh and Ferdinand was miles ahead of Terry last year but then these awards don't really have much of a track record of being any good.

What's got into you during your time away!?;) If we're classing that as hard we may as well be the scousers.

We've got the champions from a much substantially lesser quality league (Celtic)
2nd from a lesser quality league (Villareal)
And a champions league debutant.

All against the Champions of Europe. Piss easy.

Renties love-in for the awards, think Cech's was deserved, however, how did braveheart get his instead of Ferdinand who for the past year has been the best centre back in europe at least. And then fat frank? I wouldn't have minded it being a Chelsea player had it have been Essien cos he's been class, but how Lampard!? Would have been out of Essien and Fabregas for me. Ronaldo was always going to win best forward.

We have an easy group to be honest. Chelsea's and Liverpool's aren't that tough either. Group F looks the toughest to be honest.

Don't mind losing this game. Pointless and I like going into the big matches with something to prove. Tevez is the only player in any form right now.

Fenerbache's gonna be a bitch but the only really difficult thing abut Group G is the travel distances. Liverpool got a few good uns too. As usual, Chelsea are sorted.

LMAO @ Scholes, Ledge. Should be playing volleyball. He'll only miss a game, ITV are gay moaning. There will be some stuff from the united fans on that seeing as we're such lovers of Argentina :D

Glad we picked up a bit towards the end, means we should head into the liverpool game with a bit of form and something to prove.

Don't mind losing that one really, european version of the charity shield. Never got going in the first half, and too little too late in the second half. Tevez was immense as he has been through every game in pre-season and the start of the league season. Evra played well too. Rio looked a bit off, but I'd be a bit annoyed if I was overlooked twice for a overrated thug.

As for Scholes, lol how did he think he was gonna get away with that?:p Bit stupid really as he'll miss the Villareal game. Yeah I cant see too many United fans being unhappy with Maradona for what he did;).

Completely nothing match but well played Zenit nevertheless. Danny absolutely owned Rio for that second goal though.

Well we've got Juventus, who I think are very much beatable. Zenit are a quality side as well, so it definitely wont be a walk in the park, but hey it is the Champions League after all.

We usually suck against Italian teams, which is why I am little concerned about Juve. They are beatable and we have a stronger team, but they are Italians and in recent years we have been knocked out of the tournament by Italian sides. Oh and there Bate Borisov as well. Sounds more like the name of a person.

Scholesy, what exactly got into you? You're not a cheating git like that Maradona bloke, so please never do that again! At least you didn't do it in a World Cup Quarter Final.

Tevez was incredible, I think he might well be our Player of the Season this year.

Well, I can't stand Argentina personally. The team, not the country, that is and one player in particular, we all know who I mean. Scholesy emulated him tonight, to his eternal shame. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I'm just as supportive of England as I am of Utd.

That Danny (Dani?) looks one hell of a player.
