Champions League Twenty20 2011

So basically MI have cheated and have fielded 5 overseas players when they have a fit Indian player who has been falsely ruled out? WHAT A SHAME!!!! If I were in the CLT20 governing council, I would immediately throw MI out of the competition midway. They dont deserve a semifinal spot (in fact they didnt deserve to have played the tournament).

Its highly annoying to see talented local players such as Bollinger and Bravo not representing their local franchises in NSW and T&T respectively, whilst making handy match winning contributions for some lucrative rich IPL sides.
I agree. NSW Blues lost both Bollinger and Lee, Warriors lost Jacbos, T&T lost Bravo and Pollard (Pollard was also in Redbacks, wasn't he?) and I guess there are many more players in the list. Is there any case where a player isn't representing the IPL team but some other one?

And what's the criteria to solve the player clashes, is it just the money?

Probably he could have been injured before the series! I haven't read the complete article yet.

Bravo and pollard didn't played a single t20 match for TT in their domestic t20 tournament, but pollard played full tournament for Mumbai. (bravo at end of IPL)

Now as he played for mumbai for whole season so team depends upon him, where as T & T doesn't depend upon him as he didn't played only.

Here everyone taking this club thing to country thing. For country there is t20 and world cup.

T20 champ is england and India Is ODI Champion.

if cristaino rolando play against portugal club, then their fans don't say that
he is from portugal and he should play for us.

Cricket is popular in India than any of the country and its a fact which each and everyone know. So thats why This club thing started.

9 years back when Gayle was thrashing india in ODI series, i never thought i will be supporting this guy, but see today i am as he is in one of my fav team.

The MI vs CC game is a washout. This result complicates Group A's points table heavily. The team at a major disadvantage is Cape Cobras. They now have to depend on other results to go their way to make it past this round. If MI win their last game against NSW, they are through. If MI lose, they complicate things heavily for themselves too and have to depend on other results to make it. Group A is wide open with all 5 teams still having a chance to reach the semifinals (T&T's job looks the toughest despite playing two great games). Lucky for CSK that we play all games in Chennai. Cant guess the semifinalists.

Does Ronaldo hold a contract with any Portugueses clubs?:facepalm

Do you understand the problem? Pollard and co hold contracts with their native clubs, so when they play for IPL teams, the IPL teams are leeching talent from the native clubs.

Fail logic.

You think IPL started due to cricket madness? If so, you're wrong!

for that contract only ipl team is paying money.. AS IPL is not held for 6 - 8 months, so player has to go look for other teams.

My point is that if player is not available for their domestic tournament, then how can he play them for in Champions League.

Similarly IPL team can't buy new overseas player or domestic player for champions league as that new player would have not played IPL for that team.

i personally want players to play for their domestic team but then u must allow IPL teams to buy new players for Champions LEague.

About IPL:

You know in India, Every ODI game is full house whether india lose or win.
If india didn't had the madness of cricket, then this IPL would have not lasted for 4 years.

Earlier a similiar kind of Hockey Tournament (PHL) started but it got flop because there is no madness for hockey.

If u think people like Vijay Mallya, Ambani buyed team for earning money then i am very sorry to say U r WRONG.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he was. They already had Haddin though so maybe they made it clear they didn't want him and thats why hes playing for Warriors otherwise I'm certain he would play for Kolkata.

There is just one major problem with this. The ICC doesn't run the Champions League, the BCCI does.

Champions League = BCCI + CA + SA

Everything cannot be blamed on BCCI eventhough they do crazy stuff.

Who told you that the CA and SA run the CLT20?:facepalm

lol they do as co-owners. The BCCI however holds an 80% stake running this tournament.

This is the best tournament I have ever been alive for :D

It's really unfair having overseas players playing for IPL sides. It looks like the Indian sides haven't got certain domestic players, which makes them to pick overseas. But you see the others side haven't got more than one as overseas but they really have a balance squad.

In my opinion it's looks rubbish playing overseas in this kind of leagues where there is side who doesn't even have an overseas.

In somerset there are 4 overseas player

Murali Karthik
Van der Merwe
Thomas (captain)
Dockrell

In india not many watches domestic cricket as people do in england or in australia. So thats why IPL started with concept of having overseas player and Indian International Player playing in that tournament.

only from 3-4 years indian domestic cricket is started to telecast in TV.

Well, actually, if I remember correctly ,this IPL has seen a couple of sides field 3 foreign players on account of injuries. The rules certainly were not changed at that time. Why only now ?
Just cause Ambani paid the max franchisee fee for Mumbai ? I agree with Sai when he says that they don't deserve a semi-final spot. Thriw them out.

Bout the control of the BCCI, its quite apparent that they hold all the aces here. I would have honestly not liked to see a qualifying tournament, which gives India the chance to field 4 teams[none ,however look like winning it tbh].

Secondly, this is a Champions League. Have it in England, Australia, NZL. Why only in India ???

I doubt whether ppl still watch domestic matches. Irani trophy is currently going on, but ppl are hooked onto the CLT20.
