Champions League Twenty20 2011

The fourth side competes in a qualifier tournament along with sides from NZ, SL, etc and only then does it have a chance of coming through.

And you mean to say there is a chance of that fourth side to lose against these SL & WI sides? I think its safe to say there will be a fourth IPL side in this CLt20 .

----------

England has 18 teams in its t20 tournament , but has only 1 representative , while the IPL has 10 teams featuring but allows 4 to compete in the CLt20? Can you explain that part of injustice to me?

@Haarithan

Simple answer MONEY. India is loaded so more go in to the CLT20.

I was never against 3 teams representing in CLt20 from India but this one is surely getting on my nerves.

This is stupid. Why should we have to participate in a qualifying tournament when there are three Indian teams in the tournament.

The actually reason is the IPL teams know Colin de Grandhomme is going to own them up, so they're trying to limit his damage by getting Auckland eliminated earlier.

It would be a real shame if we (Auckland) don't go, because we do look much stronger than the two New Zealand teams that have previously gone on paper.

WTF as if 3 IPL teams wasn't enough they now want double what any other country gets. That is just stupid and no way should the countries with 1 team be forced to qualify.

I wouldn't be surprised if the BCCI made it a 16 team tournament next season with all 10 ten IPL teams qualifying (maybe the bottom two sides via qualifiers :rolleyes).

I think its being done on the request of broadcasters who are demanding better teams to participate and given that IPL teams play more overseas players + the domestic players are also quite well known so it would attract more audience.

But to call it a champions league without teams from 2-3 other nations is stupid. I hope this idea is scrapped.

I hate this, I like IPL but 4 teams is just wayyy too much. Instead they should just play 1 team from all country that is winners. 8 teams and a tournament like IPL.

Yes true, Winners from all countries, even include the a International XI with players from Bang,Ned,Scot,Ire etc
