IPL Chennai Super Kings

I say get Albie Morkel in early. Open with him and Haydos. He hasn't been in the best hitting form this season but we all know what he can do. Perhaps with an extended stay at the crease he can come good.

Albie Morke
Matthew Hayden
Suresh Raina
MS Dhoni
S Badrinath
Murali Vijay
Thilan Thushara

Looks like a strong top 7 to me. Bollinger needs to get here ASAP though.

Good top 7 that, but I really want to see how good is Arun Karthik. He had a very good Ranji season and is been talked as a hard hitter of the ball. He's been in the reckoning right from last season but hasnt yet got a single game to showcase his talent. This is what I dont like about Dhoni. He doesnt give chances to some deserving players in the squad.Ntini,Karthik,Ganapathy,Perreira,Thushara are a few examples. How he still has faith in a guy like Joker Sharma is beyond me.Perreira needs to be given another chance. He can come really handy with the bat and is a very good bowler.People seem to have decided on him watching that single game against MI.He was really nervous on that day bowling his 1st over of the IPL in the 16th over of the innings that too when the crowd were heavily chanting for Mumbai.

Is Oram fit?

Oram slams Chennai after IPL ditch

New Zealand all-rounder Jacob Oram, who has been reportedly replaced by his Indian Premier League (IPL) team Chennai Super Kings [ Images ] citing his injury, has said that he has not been officially informed about any such decision.

Oram tore his patella tendon during the first ODI against Australia early this month, but hoped to be able to return for the later rounds of the IPL.

"I haven't heard it officially anywhere, but that's fairly typical of Indian communication, but I've heard I've been replaced. Chennai did not want to roll the dice as to whether I would be fit in time," The New Zealand Herald quoted Oram, as saying.

Despite the reports, the 31-year-old has admitted that he is not worried about the situation.

"The IPL is great from a personal point of view and great for a financial point of view, but one of my big career goals is to win a world title for my country and I think we have a great chance to win the World Twenty20 this year," he added.

Oram further said he has recovered from his injury, and hopes to start intensive training soon.

Did Oram communicate about his fitness status properly to Chennai management? We dont know the other side of the story.

Anyways, waiting for Bollinger's entry to see what he can do to our bowling attack. We need to bloster it.

I am waiting to see Arun Karthik too get a game for Chennai.

Oram doesn't seem to be interested to play in the IPL again. Typical of a whiner... generalizing prick. How dare he says its "typical Indian communication", you piece-of-crap always injured player :facepalm

Unless we know both sides of the stories, we never know what really happened. :) Anyways, Bollinger over Oram is a good move. We need strike bowler badly. Yes, very badly.

If batting clicks bowling fails and vice versa.Leave Bollinger, even God cant save us from this situation unless we perform as a team.

Even if we win rest of the matches in a streak? I still have hopes in Dhoni's captaincy. :)

Exactly. He shouldn't make sweeping generalizations like that. And I hope Dougie can change the fortunes of CSK :p

We need to win 6 matches out of 7 (which will give us 8 wins out of 14). Almost impossible, but Dhoni is a miracle man and has luck invariably on his side. Hope it works this time.

If its over then rest Dhoni and Raina plz. :)

Dhoni already took rest for 3 games. That was a blessing in disguise for him. If they think its over, they will themselves rest some key players (e.g. Raina).

Dougie is coming in too late (April 5th only). We play RCB on Mar 31st and we play Rajasthan again on April 3rd. Dougie isnt available for both these games. We need to win both these games if Dougie has to be of any use to us. If we lose both, Dougie can well stay back and rest himself. If we win one game, maybe Dougie will still come but then the job would have got even harder.

The thing is, WHO WILL THEY DROP? We have been playing only one overseas batsman in Hayden till now and three overseas bowlers. If we are ready to drop Hayden, it will be OK to draft in Hussey. But we cant drop Thushara who has bowled really well in both the games he has played. Its Morkel who needs to be dropped because he hasnt done anything as far as bowling goes. We cant drop Murali too because he has been far better this tournament in saving runs for us with his bowling. Tough decision on hands for CSK. Most likely they will draft in only Bollinger for the RR game just to bloster the bowling. With Vijay in good form and Raina too, they wont mind keeping Hussey out in the benches.
