32.2 4 Burns to Fieldwick
Wallop! One bounce and it's four runs, nearly concussing the ballboy that foolishly got in its way.
32.1 6 Burns to Fieldwick
Fieldwick steps forwards, plays a lovely drive, the ball zooming ever so slightly to the left with a trail of red fizzy stuff behind it. Hits the electronic scoreboard. It's flickering - oh no, it's broken! Panic over, power restored, and six runs added.
And that's a century for Fieldwick! Well played indeed Sir!

All hail the mighty Fieldwick! His first 100. He was batting at 3, I lost my 2 best batsmen in the first 3 overs (on a flat pitch! :0) but he and Purse (64*) have steadied the ship.

End of Over 33: 215-3, runrate=6.52

Fieldwick plays half his games on a slow pitch, remember? :p
Well, there you go then, thats your own fault :p

I think were actually going to score below 300 today, for the first time in ages! Its a dry pitch so luckily I played 2 spinners, runs seem hard to come by especially in the middle of the innings, should be interesting!

I think I'll score over 300 today, for the first time in a while. I usually end up chasing 150-200 odd after bowling the opposition out cheaply.

EDIT:

43.3 4 West to Fieldwick
That's four all the way.
Thats his 150. A fine knock.

EDIT 2:

45.3 4 Haughton to Purse
Leans back and late cuts, no chance of a fielder stopping that! Four runs.
And that's a century for Purse! Well played indeed Sir!

First hundred for Purse as well, great game for me.

End of Over 46: 305-4, runrate=6.63
Haughton 8-0-40-3
Purse* 103 (95 balls)
Griffin 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Fieldwick c. Langer b. Haughton 155 (FOW: 305/4)

45.6 W Haughton to Fieldwick
Wicket! Fieldwick hammers the ball to mid off, but he hasn't got on top of it, and it's an easy catch for Langer. He didn't have to move for that one.

Oh shucks. Still, a great knock ,and a partnership of 247. I'm not complaining.

Ive been bowled out for the first time this season!

Last time that happened though I bowled the opposition out for less than 100 in reply so lets hope it happens again :D

Perfect start :)
0.5 W Oneil to Mcstay
Thatcher's caught him. Great fielding.

Shame you cant do it against the good teams then isnt it ;)

Bowling first against league leaders on a GFI. Not looking so bad, but I have a reversed batting order, so unless my tail departs quickly chasing above 250 will be a huge challenge.

Code:
End of Over 8: 42-3, runrate=5.25
[COLOR=Sienna]Atkinson[/COLOR] 4-0-28-2
[COLOR=Sienna]Rennie*[/COLOR] 7 (10 balls)
[COLOR=Sienna]Dowdall[/COLOR] 3 (3 balls)

Last Wicket: [COLOR=Sienna]Antoine[/COLOR] c. [COLOR=Sienna]Delop[/COLOR] b. [COLOR=Sienna]Atkinson[/COLOR] 19 (FOW: 38/3)

Dowdall hit a century we met last time around, so his wicket will be key...

10-0-32-2

quite nice for him only 17 possibly train him up to quality,

history with him is intersting aswell, i outbidded my rivals then in his competetive debut (slight doubt to it possibloy being his 2nd match but ill check later) he played against them and played a fairly important role in a shock win for me! so he is my 2nd favourite player now!

Code:
End of Over 17: 87-5, runrate=5.12
[COLOR=Sienna]Tuckett[/COLOR] 2-0-6-1
[COLOR=Sienna]Downey*[/COLOR] 4 (16 balls)
[COLOR=Sienna]Sturdy[/COLOR] 0 (1 balls)

Last Wicket: [COLOR=Sienna]Dowdall[/COLOR] b. [COLOR=Sienna]Tuckett[/COLOR] 21 (FOW: 87/5)
Wohoo! Dowdall gone!! Big breakthrough! Not much batting to go, hope to bundle them out for less then 200!

OK!! THE BIG MATCH HAS STARTED. CRICKET GENIUSES V BRIGGS XI AT MY GROUND!!
Cricket Geniuses have won the toss and have chosen to bat. The pitch is dusty, and I have chosen two great spinners. Regular updates to follow. Stay tuned.

First boundary hit in the 5th over:
4.3 4 Oneil to Mapes
He managed to play that one past extra cover. The sweeper gets a hand to it but the ball still rolls over the rope.

************************************************************
Update :
End of Over 6: 22-0, runrate=3.67
Forbes 3-0-12-0
Mapes* 11 (20 balls)
Hume 10 (16 balls)

Slow, but steady start.

**********************************************************
Update:
End of Over 10: 34-0, runrate=3.40
Forbes 5-0-16-0
Mapes* 17 (39 balls)
Hume 16 (21 balls)

A bit too slow for my liking. Hopefully, they'll pick up the runrate against the worse bowlers. Atleast they haven't lost a wicket yet.

*****************************************************
Update:
End of Over 15: 78-0, runrate=5.20
Browne 1-0-13-0
Hume* 42 (38 balls)
Mapes 32 (54 balls)

That's more like it! 44 runs in the last five overs!

Interesting point- Thatcher, the 100,000 BTR, is not even playing. Hmm....

**********************************************************
Update:
End of Over 20: 117-0, runrate=5.85
Ali 5-0-45-0
Hume* 65 (50 balls)
Mapes 48 (72 balls)

Woah! Are the stepping on the gas or what! Runrate close to 6! I'll be satisfied with a score around 270.
