I guess Australia will lose , most probably a close match, so that they can say they did not "influence" which team plays them in the final . (cricket experts who can dig out history can shed more light on this )
There is nothing wrong in that and aussies should not be upset abt it . But if they manage to win against Lanka , India will be CB series champion .
That tie cost India the place in the finals. Dhoni will be rueing the fact that he couldn't finish off that game for India and now it has cost us a place in the finals. Had we got those crucial 2 points and denied Sri Lanka the 2 points, India might have been in control of their own destiny in the series.
Never mind. I am glad this Indian team is now coming home. A long and mainly cheerless stay in Australia comes to an end. Indian fans will be sighing with relief and disappointment in equal measure. Not one of the more memorable tours to be sure. Time to move on and look to the future.
I'm finding it difficult to remember the last time when Team India won a series in any format of the game, AWAY from home? Also going by Dhoni's so called 'ill-fated' luck, I wouldn't be surprised if CSK end up rock bottom in this season's IPL. That would cap up a perfect 365 days for me.
It's only been 2 tours. They bombed out awfully in England and Australia, but the tour before that was in the West Indies, and India won the series in all 3 formats. They also did pretty well in SA in their 4th last tour, 1-1 in Tests and lost 2-3 in ODIs, with a 1 run loss in the 1st one.
