Commonwealth Bank Series Feb-Mar 2011/12

I think Sachin should play tomorrow. He will InshaAllah score his 100th ton tomorrow.

We people can't imagine how much pressure is on him.The whole world is waiting for his one century.Hope that tomorrow his that historical day. :yes

I think India is having a good strategy here. They are currently doing the right thing by giving opportunity to all the youngsters. See this is the thing, the next world cup is in Australia/NZ and I am pretty sure that Sehwag and Sachin won't be there by the time of WC. So we have to keep rotating players in order to give them enough experience of this kind of wickets which are completely different than home conditions otherwise they will struggle in the future. So I like the approach of team management of rotating senior players like Sehwag and Sachin (even though this might be the last ODI series for Sachin) and giving full time to youngsters to settle down. Although I don't like that they are also trying to rotate Gambhir when he can be there for next WC and that guy is a fighter who will play in any sort of conditions once he has a good look of pitch.

I agree with you. I think this is a great series to rotate your players. India have 17 guys here and I think they should all get at least a couple of games, particularly at the unique venues like Perth and Brisbane. Sure play the first choice players a little more, but as you say there really isn't a long term benefit of having Sachin play every game.

Ashwin gets another game despite having been below par in the T20 games and the first ODI. Hope he resurrects himself soon with this game. Rahul Sharma has been breathing down his neck heavily in the shorter format.

Wish India batted. I can only watch the first innings (since the second innings starts for me at 3:40am by which time I should go to sleep).

I don't like bowlers being able to bowl left arm, it's unfair on batsmen.

SL need to look for not to give any wickets till 40th over atm they are well on the course of getting a respectable score while if india could pick up 1 or wickets here,it will surely dent SL's progress and they will easily restrict them under 250

I'm looking forward to see how Sachin bats in this match. In the last ODI, the way he got out was extremely disappointing. It's not like he's getting out on good balls, like Dravid was in test matches, he's getting out due to his own mistakes and he's the one who knows this better than anyone else. The tactic of being way too defensive early in his innings, doesn't help him at all but still he has gone for that tactic and that hasn't paid off. I'd love to see him play attacking cricket today and if not attacking than his normal game, which is being positive and not thinking of the result. The Sri Lankan attack isn't very impressive, just play Malinga carefully and this Indian team should be good.

There's often not so many runs in a WACA one day pitch, but it's hard to tell with Sri Lanka coming into this game with unmentionable form. With Mathews there, 230 odd is possible, but that's only a run-a-ball in the last 10 overs.

That's a great dive, stick it on the fridge.
