Well so thats almost end of hopes for us Indians

We have been so fried chickening poor post world cup. We need some home games soon

So 3 matches left before the finals and India need to win both which means 18 points and then Sri Lanka to win the last against the Australians which means Sri Lanka and India play the finals.

If we even lose a match against Sri Lanka and win against Australia and Sri Lanka winning the match against Australia, we could still be out of the tournament seeing the poor run rate. so we just have simple thing, WIN BOTH THE MATCHES and qualify for finals

If India lose to Australia, beat Sri Lanka by a bonus point and if Sri Lanka lose to Australia, India are through due to more number of wins against Sri Lanka. Net run rate is the last criteria. The first criteria is points, the second criteria is most number of wins against the other, the third criteria is who has the most bonus points, and only then does the NRR come in. So India still have enough chance. Win both, and we are surely through. If we lose, we better lose to Australia and beat Lanka by a bonus point.

But yes, its the hardest for us but not impossible. We were table leaders not so long ago. I just hope the friggin' toss goes our way. We always have had to chase every game. Hope Dhoni's (and our team's) luck changes from here on.

If Sri Lanka can win a game with a bonus point against Australia, why can't India do it? India have topped the table during this series once beating both Australia and Sri Lanka in consecutive matches. I dont see why they cant either reprise the effort, or not beat Sri Lanka with a bonus point and see Australia beating SL (Aus would want India in the final, because SL have gotten stronger as the series has progressed). And MS Dhoni is going to be back for the next two games (hoping he doesnt again fluff up on the over rate) which is a massive boost for India.

Nonsense.

Let's have a look at the stats. India has only 2 bowlers on the top 10 wicket takers (as opposed to 4 from Australia and SL each). And from that list, both Indians have the highest averages. From the list of the most economical, only 2 Indians again make the the top 10. And one of them's Sehwag - who's only bowled 2 overs.

Dhoni can't always bail you out.
