And you drop Umesh Yadav for all military medium bowlers? I would want Yadav. He has not been bad at all in this series. He has been a find from this tour. And I will play Rahul Sharma (who was fit for our previous game vs Australia). And I am inclined to play Raina for Sharma. Both have been equally bad with the bat. But Raina is a far superior fielder and a far better part timer. And he brings lot of energy to the field as opposed to Sharma whose body language is always sluggish.

He's an odd guy Chandimal. Every time he's gone for the big hit he's seemed to fail and you wonder how he's scoring his runs, because that grip of his really closes the face of the bat. Yet he just hangs around, and works his way into an innings - it's a great skill to have. He'll only get better.
Hilf? Hmmm, yeah I dunno. He got another lucky wicket at the end (seems he's inherited the Watson golden arm for the moment). I'm just disappointed he bowled so short early on. The Hilfy of the Test matches could often be a bit short too, and when you swing the ball like he does you need to at least have the batsmen thinking of coming forward.
Harris was crap really, except for when Chandimal decided to miss a straight one. That was Harris' best over of the night, his other death over wasn't too bad but a poor last ball cost 4 - which was the story of the night for Australia. Really liked when Clarke hooked Harris after only 1 over in the middle of the innings. It was a shocking over, all over the shop.
Lee's still mid 140s and almost 150. In fact I think he's been faster in this series than I've seen him for a while. He's still our most talented bowler IMHO, but got a bit distracted last night. Mark Taylor was right on it, when Jayawardene tapped him over midwicket for 6 off a very respectable good length ball, it got Lee both angry and upset his line. After that he tried mixing his lengths too much, and just tried to bowl as fast as possible. That led to inaccuracy.
All in all, the bowling was pretty ????. Lots of short and wide stuff, even from Doherty. Maybe Doherty should have a couple more overs at the end, if the main quicks aren't doing the business. They've all failed at some point: Starc needed Mathews to hole out to stop 20 being hit off him at Perth, and McKay bowled a chest high fullie at Dhoni when the game was there to win. So those guys not playing isn't as bad as some have tried to say.
Oh and just random thing I've noticed during the series. Australia's conceded a heck of a lot of 2s to 3rd man this series because their backward point is too square. I guess 2s are better than 4s, but all it's doing is making your big fast bowler sprint and dive around at 3rd man when he's trying to rest between overs.
Bowling in death overs has been the main issue for the Indian team, and this is not something new, its been a headache for the team from quite a long,
adding Umesh Yadav to the playing 11 makes it even more difficult for the captain as he is not someone who can be relied upon in the final overs if there are 2 good batsmen on the crease. He has usually bowled in the middle overs and in situations with less pressure, yet he has given away too many runs and has not picked wickets on a regular basis, and if he will bowl more in the powerplay overs and the last 10 overs, he will be even more expensive. He needs some time before he can play limited overs cricket, there is no need to overuse him right now.
Our bowlers have usually bowled well in the first 40 overs, we have never had any issues despite of not having an out and out pace bowler, the only problem which exists is death bowling, Irfan and Zaheer are the only 2 bowlers who can do the job in the final overs, apart from that,maybe Aswhin and Rahul Sharma can be useful, but we cannot depend on Yadav, Vinay Kumar and Praveen Kumar for that role.
Out of the available bowlers, one out of Vinay Kumar and Praveen Kumar should play depending on their form as they both have done well with the new ball in past, and Zaheer, Irfan, Ashwin and Rahul Sharma should be the other 4 bowlers.

Yadav's been pretty terrible really.. 3 wickets for 204 with an economy of exactly a run a ball for the series. I hope he plays tomorrow instead of say Zaheer, Vinay, Pathan or Ashwin. All Yadav's done this whole tour is take a 5-fer in a test where India lost by an innings anyway.
Well Praveen is bowling very well. His first over was awesome and here he gets wicket of Watto.
