Commonwealth Bank Series Feb-Mar 2011/12

Man we had this in bag. Well play tendiya though

130/2 is feasible before 20 overs. Lets hope we do that and then bad light kicks in:D. I don't trust Indians can keep this tempo forever.

----------

Damn... Tendulkar looks like a completely different batsman when he plays freely. Really enjoyed his batting today

----------

I guess there is some sense in India's hectic start. They are compensating for the Dhoni effect which tends to bring down the run rate considerably. ;)

----------

If the 3rd floodlight doesnt start working by the 20th over and India are above the Duckworth/Lewis score, then the batsmen should complain to umpires about bad light. No need to be the only team to play in the spirit of the game when the other two are clearly not doing it.

The lights are almost back on. So the chances of a curtailed innings are almost nil now.

At 20 overs, India need to be atleast 150 for the loss of just one more wicket from here. If they can achieve that, they are still in the hunt. I am expecting Dhoni to play his natural game today, but chances of him succeeding might be a little low.

Kohli should not have come in here. We cant afford these 3-4 run overs. We need atleast 6 runs every over to stay close.

Problem with this team is that we have too many bit and pieces all rounders and no good middle order batsman. Also they are playing like a bunch of meows, no aggression and no idea about how to plan an innings. Indian bowling....... meh, leave it.

In my opinion Gambhir is a very bad ODI opener (very bad playing style...).

All the same, it would be handy to be about halfway with half the overs remaining. They're maintaining a run rate that could actually get them a bonus point. I just think you can get into a T20 trap, kind of like the way England batted last summer in ODIs. They'd get fast 30s and 40s and it would look good for them at first, but not enough batsmen hung on and it actually made things harder for them when it really counted.

Could be intresting if this pair stay together (gambir and kohli) for 10 or 15 overs. Still fancy SL though.

Kohli getting his eye in now. He looked scratchy, but still managed to score at a run a ball, now looking to accelerate. Gamby passed the nervous 30's with a close run, but a good dive always gives you a chance.

Sri Lanka need to bowl more wicket-taking deliveries. The full-toss hasn't really been used at all.

All that work to get to the powerplay and a wicket falls. Hopefully Dhoni comes out now, could be a good thing to get a fresh batsman teeing off the way he can.
